You can name pretty much everyone as key because Miami is a tough team and we will need everyone to step up. But I think Ray will be very important. Pierce will struggle offensively having to defend Lebron and also Lebron defends Pierce probably the toughest in the league. On the other hand, Wade can't consistently run through screens and stay with Ray. He wants to make the big steal/block and not just stay with his man. Ray has to continue his good shooting and average something like 3-4 made 3s a game.

1)  KG.  When Bosh is shut down, the Heat are easier to beat.

2)  Rondo.  They have no PG to defend him.

3)  The Center position.   If the Celtics can get 30 minutes of bruising Center play, that attacks the Heats weakness

Every player is key, that's for starters.

1) De-fense! staying with LeBron and Wade and make them jumpshooters, boxing out and securing the rebounds out of the chucked shots, and getting the ball fast to Rondo to geat easy baskets. As usual, there's no bigger key.

2) Rondo and his fantastic game direction will be key. At the end of game 4, KG talked about letting him facilitate, so the Celtics offense and how Rondo pushes the ball will be huge.

3) Scoring in the post to force the Miami defense and get better looks for Paul and Ray.

UBUNTU! Go Celtics!!!

The Heat will take care of Philly and if we dont take due care of the ball, they will take care of us too. They are ballhawks if I ever saw one, and we must be among the top turnover machines in the league.

Yeah, we need to hold on to the ball better; right now we're leading all playoff teams in turnover percentage.  At the same time, Miami is struggling at forcing turnovers against Philly (15th out of 16 teams).

In the regular season, we were 3rd in turnover percentage, which is pretty terrible.  At the same time, Miami once again stunk at creating them, ranking 28th in the NBA (which admittedly surprises me).

Gloria James will be a big factor in this series. ;D but seriously tight/great defense on wade or bosh would be great, let lebron score all he wants just shut down the others.

It sure would be nice to see Jeff Green step up and do some of what he was brought here to do, namely cover those two superstars. And, JO's been a miracle on D since returning to our lineup.

However, it's gotta be said that Rondo, Pierce, Garnett, and Allen are the key Celtics players in this series, and any subsequent ones.  Maybe nobody's mentioned this because it goes without saying.  Our big four remain the key to this team's success and our advantage over everybody else.

There are teams that may be able to argue having a more talented top 1,2 or 3, but we indisputably have the best top 4 in the league.
DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

Glenn Davis.

Yes,,,collective gtoans and sighs, but people miss out on one of the big difference makers for Miami. Joel Anthony.

Unlikely as it seems he is the cog of most of their runs as he usually fires up the energy from the bench and can defend a variety of positions.

We know Jeff Green will defer to Glenn Davis as part of the second unit. We also know the team trusts Baby. That much can be seen. Its part of the DNA of the team.  Good or bad, the core players get trusted. ANd Baby is part of the core.

Therefore the energy and points that Glenn Davis brings will be critical. Anthony is no Rodman, but he plays that role for their team. I would say he is their difference maker, and if he wins the battles with Baby off the bench, they will be closer to winning than losing.

Hence Baby is our difference maker.

If Ray Allen, Pierce and KG do their thing, it'll be very hard to beat us, it pretty much always is. However, Ray especially, when he's on his game, everything else just seems to fall in place on the offensive end a lot of times. If Ray is getting off in a big way, the Heat will have a very long series. Still, that's true for pretty much anyone of our top players.

That aside, if Rondo also continues playing the way that he is, we'll be extra tough to handle. Great contributions from Glen Davis and Jeff Green are much welcome, and, well, needed.

Delonte, contrary to what some are saying, doesn't need to go off like some believe he does, but a few buckets here and there from him in games will go a long way for this team. Glen Davis is someone who absolutely has to be a factor, though.

It's obvious that Jermaine O'neal's defensive abilities will continue to be a key for this Celtic team as long as we are still in it to win it. He is that important to the team now.

It was one thing when we didn't really know how much, and what, Jermaine could give us. Now that we know, we absolutely need this guy. We need him to win a championship.

Yes on the three listed.
Rondo should dominate and break down their defense.
Green needs to keep PP fresh and RUN when in, make lebron work on defense not only against pierce but green as well
JO, Shaq and krstic are keys, we have some big centers POUND in down low and draw fouls or force double teams (or let us score  :P )
delonte west as well, he is a better player than all of miamis guards except wade
I think the celtics need to work their 3 so they are gassed at end of game and try and draw fouls.  Bosh has always appeared scared of kg, make wade work to guard ray and hopefully it will show come 4th quarter
