they lakers have had some trouble in the 1st round the last 2 years, and we all know how those years turned out in the end, so unfortunately, I won't believe the lakers are out until I see it.

Hornets have a great chance though. Chris Paul is not going anywhere

This series has been an eye-opener to really highlight the Laker's glaring weaknesses

They don't have that fight like they used to. Plus they are getting throughly outplayed by the Hornets. Their big are being outrebounded by a 6ft point guard

Hornets are a good team, but they aren't great. And if they have problems with them, they won't have a chance in the later rounds. Not to mention theres going to be alot of wear and tear from this grueling series

And honestly, Lakers would not be able to match Chris Paul's will. He scares me when he plays in the postseason lol. Lakers might even lose this series

the lakers don't have that drive, frankly i think it would have been smart for them to have done that big trade for carmelo, but they should have given up gasol/artest for nene/carmelo or something along those lines.

The Lakers are not equipped to go up against a team with a super pointguard and physical bigs - that's why the Celtics almost won last year's championship. But don't count them out just yet, remember last year they had a tough time vs. the thunder... then lady luck smiled on them with that Gasol tip-in in Game 6.. and it continued with that ugly Artest putback vs. phoenix in the WCF, and again with the Perkins injury..
I hope I'm wrong but they might repeat their 'Lucky Run' again this year, starting with the Spurs' imminent elimination giving the Lakers HCA till the WCF..

Problem for the Lakers this year is their bench. It's significantly weaker than past years. Their rotation is minimal but blake, odom and Barnes is not going to cut it in my opinion.
I don't think you can count them out right now.
We could easily be 2-2 with people saying the same things about us. We barely scraped by those first 2 games against a Knicks team that was missing their starting PG and one of their 2 superstars for crucial parts of the series.

Don't write off the champs yet, they have to win 2 of the next 3 games and two of them are at home court.

Of course I hope they get bounced but a part of me wants to see a Lakers v Celtics rematch for revenge.

"Dream Scenario" = Celts take the east + Lakers win the west ... eventually leading to ... Agreed.  But I don't think the Lakers are as good as they were last season.

these are my thought..chances of lakers goes down with perk trade..maybe one of celtics move is give perk to OKC because they have given lakers hard time 1st rnd last year, w/perk on OKC line up, they can out rebound lakers, if ever lakers will make to the finals, i think they are already wounded... trade would be hurtfull for celts but could be great plan bringing down LA...

but I would love to see rematch of celts vs lakers....

Yeah, I don't think Danny purposefully attempted to trade Perk to a team that would make it harder for the Lakers, but it's a potential fringe benefit / silver lining (depending upon your view of the trade).

What my views on this is that Lakers aren't as good they were the past 2 years. Their bench is way worse, which forces the starting 5 to play more minutes. The bigs look tired and worn out, not performing well all series

The Hornets are a good team, but OKC, Memphis, and Dallas are better. To me, I don't see the Lakers beating those teams
