I don't think that they have to face Chris Paul in any other series but this one. Chris Paul is making this a series all by his lonesome. The Lakers are at fault for not exploiting their big man advantage fully so once they correct this - they will easily defeat the Hornets and set up a grudge match against Oklahoma which could decide the WC representative in the Finals. Assuming KD vs Kobe is a push, how do the rest of the matchups breakdown? OKC only has an advantage at PG Westbrook against Fischer. Kendrick and Bynum cancel each other out but what about Iduka vs Gasol?

?
OK - what about the other four teams Portland, Dallas, SAS, and the Grizz who have come on? Of these, I think all four teams can dictate some matchups that can slow the Lakers express but not enough to beat them 4 out of 7 games. The Grizz are a nice case study of a young athletic team causing matchup nightmares against an old SA team. If it is Dallas vs SAS in the 2nd round, both teams beat the snot out of each other and will have little left for the Lakers (Kobe, Gasol) vs OKC (Durant, Westbrook, Udaka) winner.
The Lakers are my WC pick still after all this diatrabe so I respectfully must disagree with the thread initiator's opinion. The 2008 Celtics is a fair analogy to what the Lakers are experiencing right now.
