1. Chris Paul

Is leading his team against the 2 time defending champ.  Doing so without his second best player, and the odds against him were astronomical.  Many predicted the Lakers would sweep the Hornets.  Game 1 and 4 over the top performances put him far and away at #1.

2. Rajon Rondo

Torched the Knicks.  Averaging 19 Pts, 12 Ast, and a shade over 7 Boards, including a 20 Assist triple double performance.  He benefited from unreal shooting from Ray Allen, but one could also argue that Ray was much more effective when Rondo was on the floor, than when he was off the floor.

3. Russell Westbrook
4. Derrick Rose

Although Westbrook and Rose are pretty close, I give Westbrook the edge, just because I feel like the Thunder have a tougher match up than the Bulls do, and are leading that series 3-0 as opposed to 3-1.  The "Rose carrying the Bulls" argument is no longer valid, since Boozer and Noah are back, and playing pretty well.  Also, Rose's efficiency is absolutely abysmal right now.  Both Westbrook and Rose are averaging a lot of TO's (over 4 a game) but Rose is shooting 35.2% and 17.2% from 3, meanwhile Westbrook is shooting 44.6% and 46.2% respectively.  Even though Rose has lead a few second half come backs for the Bulls this playoffs so far, I feel like the reason they had to come back in the first place had more to do with Rose shooting his team out of the game.

To end, I'd like to say all 4 of these PG's are playing pretty well.  If Rose could up his FG%, I'd feel more comfortable putting him ahead of Westbrook.  It's been a joy to watch PG's so far this playoffs.

Dance Bynum, dance!

For the first time in my life I'm comparing a PG to an All-Time Great Center.

Chris Paul in that clip reminded me of Hakeem Olajuwon with the basketball....just awesome footwork....he had to have played soccer in high school or college.

If CP3 does a Dream Shake in LA I'm through.

CP3 has been the most impressive PG so far in the playoffs, and it's really not even close.

  • Another undersized Celtic...
As much as I love Rondo, I gotta say Paul. He's doing a lot without his number 2 man not there, and he may just end the Lakers this season. Hopefully not. If were going all the way it HAS to be through LA.

Rondo is second, Rose a close third. Rose is a shooting guard who can pass the ball, IMO. Westbrook, is very good, but 30 pts on 30 shots? That's not what you want from your starting PG, especially with the guys he has around them. No one on that team, including Durant should be taking that many shots!

I voted Rondo out of loyalty, but CP3 has produced under incredible odds....if he can in fact lead NOH to pull off an upset of the Lakers that would be huge.

He has looked unguardable most of the time - especially vs the Laker Bigs...just about the entire LA team.

TP for the homer vote.  I did the same.  I love what our guy did against the Knicks in the first round, but it's hard to argue against Chris Paul as the MVP of the playoffs thus far.
DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

I watched every game of the Lakers NO series.  While I was really impressed at times that he would take over for 4 or 5 minutes, I couldn't get over all the careless turnovers he committed and how easily it seemed that Steve Blake would take him out of the game.  If I were voting this early in the playoffs, I would probably give the nod to CP just because he was able to get a couple wins with an awful supporting cast.  But, that's why I wouldn't vote at this stage of the playoffs.
The fact is, his team lost.  Rose and Rondo's teams had no problems winning and in turn they both looked fantastic.  The real playoffs start Sunday.  Every match up is great and every team can win.  Well, not the Hawks, but every other one is great.

K.Hinrich(ATL)has been the most impressive pg in the playoffs in my opinion, why because he's been the most consistent in helping his team win.His play didn't take any serious highs or lows, whereas the three pg's listed did have some highlight moments but they also had dips in a few games where it impacted their teams into negative productivity. To bad he will not be available for the Bulls series because i believe he would've made D.Rose work harder for his points than he usually does.
