He didn't rebound. He let his man james jones ( who he was supposed to abuse because of his matchup favor) get hot and abuse the C's. He missed all his shots and made some stupid turnovers in the second quarter that caused the C's to be down by so much going into the 2nd half.

What is your definition of jeff green losing a game for the celtics? going 1-15 from the field and turning the ball over repeatedly in the fourth quarter causing the C's to lose by 1 point. No you are right he didn't contribute to the C's losing. but if we had an all star talent like james jones ::) instead of green we would very well have a 1-0 lead.

Delonte West and Ray Allen were also guarding James Jones too. You want them gone also?

If Ray Allen was as massively disappointing as Jeff Green on a daily basis, then yes. It's not "any one thing" that Jeff Green has been doing poorly. It's mostly everything. The expectations for Green and West are very different. West is like, an 8th or 9th man off the bench.  Green is a supposed playmaker who has been referred to, by some, as a future All-Star potential.

No just Green. He was in his own zip code on defense.

I think all of Jeff Green's problems are because Big Baby is robbing him of minutes.

I say bench Big Baby and only play him a couple minutes

You don't know how hard it is coming in and out of the game. First coming in for 2 min, then 3 min, then 1 min, then 5 min. Jeff would never be able to gain a rhythm. Not being too Pro-Jeff Green, but Celtics have to give him a chance and play him more

Seriously? Jeff Green got to play at the 3 as well as the 4 when the Celtics decided to go small today. He only played one less minute than BBD, too; BBD actually only played 23 minutes, not the high 20s or even low 30s he's used to. It's one thing if you actually thought BBD stunk today (and a +/- -21 may speak for itself), but Jeff Green not doing as well as he should have has nothing to do with BBD.

Good Point. But the jagged minutes he gets is so hard for a player a gain a rhythm

Wdleehi put it best.  When jeff Green plays he is on the floor. He is there and that is all. He doesn't win games and he doesn't lose games. He has been less effective than quisy and other than a couple of games where he scored 20 points or so he has brought little to the team.  It is amazing that a guy his size gets so few rebounds.  I have accepted perk being gone, but I can't accept what Danny got in return, at least what they have delivered this year. In addition to the Green disappointment, Krstic is a Non-factor.  If you are going to trade your starting center, at least get someone who can have an impact on the game.

jowwwman, I don't want to argue except to say that judging by your various posts, you seem to have a pretty overwhelming case of Jeff Green hate which blocks out everything else.

The reffing was horrific today, but even if I had been reffing, and calls would have gone differently, the loss today was pretty much a team effort.  I don't think you can blame todays loss on a bench player and exclude the players who are "supposed" to show up and play the whole game...the starters.  Looked like Ray was the only one who was "on".  It happens.  It would have been better to win, but this was not game seven, and we have not lost the series  yet.

I don't hate him, in fact I was actually excited when I had heard of the trade as I believed that it would give us a legitamate scoring option off the bench and at the same time I thought that Perk was overrated by many as well for his contributions. However after watching his first few games I already had a pretty good idea that he was not the right fit for this team and adding him and forcing him into some minutes off the bench was horrible for our team chemistry and not surprisingly our bench has played as bad as they could possibly play with the addition of Green.

Watching Green play and watching his interviews he doesn't appear confident at all and he just seems like he has absolutely no heart or passion to be here and play for Boston. Jeff Green and his soft personality and play on the court is just a horrible fit and trade for a veteran team wanting to win NOW and it shows in every game he gets abused just standing around,

Another reason I feel so strongly about this is because Green is so overrated by the board its funny. It's like this with every game. You guys always deflect the blame away from this guy onto the coach or being new or whatever but the fact is the guy isn't producing. When I bring up a point about WHY as in facts during the game that prove Jeff Green is garbage (getting torched by bench players) you choose to ignore entirely and say that we wouldn't have won despite his play or whatever. I can bet that if Green posts even decent numbers half of this board will go crazy with I told you  sos and talk of his all star potential.

Finally I am sick of hearing of his potential. Potential to be an all star means nothing if it doesn't translate into results and help us win now. I will be happy to see Green go after this year. dont care if we trade him or let him go his soft personality and play is just not fit for this team or any team that wants to be a winner in the future. Green is the perfect fit to be a top option on one of the bottom feeding teams I believe that is where he will excel showing his talent and getting paid for making pretty plays with no pressure. He is simply not a winner.
Speaking as one of "you guys" I guess, I was hoping Green would come in and contribute right away, or even assimilate and contribute more than he has, but I still can understand the reasoning behind the trade.  While he may not have been a real whirlwind today, I though the refs were treating him like a rookie, calling ticky tacky fouls on him.  I still think he is not the reason we lost the game today.  And, I am still hoping he will come through for us sometime in the playoffs when we need him.  If he doesn't...chances are Nate wouldn't have, either...and even Perk (and yes, I was upset about the trade) didn't do much today for OK.

On to the next game and better results!

So much hate for Green today. I thought he had a solid game today minus the missed free throws and the missed bunny shot at the beginning of the game. His problems are just magnified when Doc uses the bench + Ray lineup. Not a fan of that lineup at all this year

Edit: Something of note. Green has been getting stuffed at the rim a lot lately by going up soft.. When I watched him in OKC plays like that were dunks and hard finishes... Stuff like this

Maybe his dunk from today will remind him that he's got hops.

I agree the sad thing is it's not just Green our entire bench has been that way and plain awful but that's for another thread
