You think he could stop rondo? Since rondo has problems with pgs that are bigger than him. Chauncey is also very smart

Nope.

When Rajon Rondo plays like he played last night? Not many can stop him.

He is playing like the same Rondo that basically destroyed Lebron and CLE last year...outplayed Jason Williams and ORL last year...and played well vs LA in the Finals.

The main difference with THIS year's Rondo vs last is that he now appears to have a jumpshot, or is getting the confidence to use it.

No offense, Chauncey, but the series would still be 3-0 even if he, Amar'e and Melo were healthy. Boston played IMO their best basketball I've seen in a long time last night, and when they play like that - with Rondo as the motor?

Tough to beat.

If Chauncey were healthy and competing, the series would probably be 2-1 in our favor, and I'm guessing it would last 6 games.

Nothing was stopping the C's last night, though.  When the shots are falling like that, no team will beat the Celtics.

no rondo usually has more problems with quick guards. in a reg season game (denver) this season it was ty lawson, not chauncy giving rondo problems. same with kyle lowry. chauncy is not a factor for this series....so knicks fans should stop using him as an excuse.

No.  With or without Chauncey, it doesn't matter.

Rondo has 'flipped the switch' into playoff mode.  Forget his coasting for the last 20 regular season games.  He's in attack mode finally on offense, coming back and helping out in the rebounding category, and staying in front of his man on defense.

He's in full speed playoff mode.  Bout time he's hit that switch.

I don't think it'd make a difference. Rondo is a tough match up for Billups, and even though Douglas isn't as good a player as him, he can hit the three as well or better than Chauncey, and probably has a better chance of staying with Rondo. But he can't either. We won game 1 with Chauncey playing, would game 2 be different? Probably not. If Billups had played even at 100%, Melo was hot--with Billups on the floor along with him and Amare, you'd have to take the ball out of Melo's hands for Billups to make a difference. Melo was the whole reason they were really in the game. As for game 3, forget it--not too many teams will beat the C's when they shoot that well and execute on both ends.

Strongly doubt the series would look much different. The Knicks have looked god awful with Billups in there earlier this season, I do not see why that would have suddenly changed during the playoffs, experience or not.

Billups is probably an improved defender over Douglas against most players, however, against a guy as quick as Rondo, I'm not that sure.

Overall, no. I am not sure the Knicks are extending his contract either, that should tell you all you need to know about their alleged 'third best player'.

Disagree. I don't think Melo goes off for 42 in game 2 if Chauncey is healthy and distributing the ball and without him going off like that it would have been a pretty easy Celtics win.

Yeah.  Billups does a worse job on Rondo than Douglas.  Furthermore, it was only close Game 2 because Carmelo was ridiculous.  And he wouldn't have jacked 30 shots with Billups out there. 

Also, if we're going to play what would've happened if the Knicks 34-year-old point guard was playing, I think we should also be playing, what would've happened if the C's 39-year-old starting center was playing.

You're right, but he's a poor matchup for Rondo.  Even in his prime, he was too slow to really keep up with him.

How great could be our 2nd unit with someone who is a great decision maker and excellent shooter? I don't think it will be possible, but Chauncey is the only player I really like from the Bricks. It's a shame that he can't be playing, but his absence makes our team too strong for NY.
