You guys need to re-read the thread.
You act as if I am not a Rajon Rondo fan, he's my second favorite Celtic.
And this was written before yesterday's game, obviously. And I would not have written this topic if the game was before.

I think you all should re-read it because you clearly just read the title and didn't read the full thread. Absolutely no hate towards Rajon, just my observations over the second half of the season.

But, all that aside. Knicks got Rondo'd!!!!!!

lol you gotta be kiddin me....

How about you re-read article. Everything I mention was legit, I am not downing Rajon Rondo, he has played great the first 3 games this playoff. But before that I felt as if he was forcing his mid-range jumper and not getting Ray and Paul and Kevin looks. Obviously that was 100% true in the second half of the season.

But....it looks like Rajon read this before the last game (lol jk) but seriously, it's good to see Rondo getting 20 assists and getting Ray and Paul looks.

Andy Bernard doesnt lose constests. He wins them, or he quits them because they're unfair.

I haven't seen Rondo forcing jumpers.  It looks to me like when he shoots them, he's usually wide open.

I have no problem with him taking 3 to 5 open jumpers a game (and hopefully hitting at least 40-45% of them).

Defenses are not going to guard him as if he's Ray Allen, but I do think it's important to let the opposition know that he will take and make that shot.

I definitely don't want to see him start to force jump shots a la Derrick Rose or Russell Westbrook, however.

still though I agree with my original statement that I have no problem with Rondo's game and i'm happy he's taking/making these shots.

If we play Miami or the Lakers, they will cross match on Rondo and Kobe or Wade will clog the lane. He should keep taking the jumpers when they are there.

Even if this was before Friday's game, it was still after Tuesday's game, in which Rondo scored 30 points, taking 15 layups against 8 jump shots, and also got to the line 7 times.  I didn't see anything but the last 5 minutes of the game, unfortunately, but those stats would indicate he was driving to the hoop just fine when the opportunity presented itself.

As most people have said, Rondo's playing just fine.

Rondo has been laying great this series, and that is a good point about Kobe and Wade...but I would still rather have him driving and dishing or having Ray and Paul take advantage of the mismatch.

I never said anywhere that Rondo hasnt been playing well, obviously no one has read the thread.
All I simply said was Rondo is trying to earn defenders respect by taking jump-shots, and I feel that he is a better player when he drives and dishes, and that has been proven the last 2 games.
I never said Rondo was playing poorly, jesus christ guys.

Yea but you're saying that he shouldn't be trying to improve his game. He cant get in the paint every single play. He should be able to hit jump shots, and practice makes perfect. It's not like taking jump shots is going to make him worse at what he already does.

I just don't get why you have a problem with Rondo trying to become a better all-around player.

I read the thread, and feel justified in responding since when you use terms like "no one has read the thread" that includes everyone.

A lot of the respondents are aware that you weren't trying to diss Rondo, but still disagree with your premise.

I totally agree with your statement that Rondo is at his best when he's driving and dishing.  To me, that doesn't preclude him taking an occasional jump shot.  I haven't looked at his jumpers per game average so far in the playoffs, but I'd be willing to guess that it's similar to what it was during the regular season.

Kudos to you for trying to come up with a simplified solution to Rondo's problems down the stretch of the regular season and coming up with your version of an answer to how he's turned his play around in the post-season. I just think you've got it all wrong.

Keep taking the open jumpers, Rajon, and more importantly, keep aggressively pushing the ball at the D.  They are not mutually exclusive.
