Have the balls to put your name on it. Otherwise you're a coward and a punk.

That's a good point, Mr. Rankin  ;)

I think this is Chris Paul.  Just seems right up his alley.

Anyways, it was an interesting read.  I have no problem with him calling out KG, because as Doc said, any one of these guys would take the guy on their team in a heartbeat, and that is all you need to know.

I think all these guys claiming KG picks on lesser and more fragile players are right on.  But I think they are missing the point.  They think he is just being a "coward", however, I think he is just being smart.  He picks on the guys who he knows it is going to work on.  He will get in Villanueva and Gasol's head, and try to get Noah to fight back.  But, he won't do the same thing with mentally tough guys like Kobe or Duncan.  Its not because he is afraid of them, it is just because he knows it will do more harm than good.

Yes, KG is a bully.  And bully's pick on weaker kids.  If they were to pick on the kids who will fight back, their pockets wouldn't be filled with lunch money.

Its not exactly an endearing quality, and not something I would like to see from my son (if I had one), but as an emotional leader on my team, I am glad he is a bully, because bully's win.

Pretty sure Player X is either Charlie Villanueva or Joakim Noah.

From what I've read of his, I think he's a wing of some kind.  He seems to know a lot more about the up-close tendencies of other wing players (like Pierce and Artest in this one).  Clearly a vet who's been around a bit.  And he seems relatively well-written, though who knows how much of that is editing.  Plus he's likely out of the playoffs if he's still got time to write these articles.

Shot in the dark: Grant Hill.

There was some pretty good evidence that last season's "Player X" was Ray Allen.

But, in all fairness, if we see something 'well written', I kind of assume Ray Allen, Shane Battier, or Grant Hill wrote it. When I read 'The Road Not Taken', I assumed it was by Ray Allen until someone told me it was by a guy named Robert Frost.

Sure but can robert6 Frost hit a game winning 3 with no time remaining?  No.  He is more of a mid range jump shooter.

To be fair, his prime was before the 3-point line was around.  So, who knows what he could have been if he came up with the 3-pointer as part of the game...

My thing is if Kevin's the punk and coward, why is he anonymous? And if the player wants to say it to his face and can why won't they? I don't think it's Grant Hill at all because he doesn't seem confrontational and doesn't talk a lot of smack in the first place. Whoever it is though was playing before the Big 3 or may have been watching and seeing Ray pre-big 3.

I don't know nor do I care my issue is with players complaining that KG is mean and a horrible trash talker when they could easily just not let it affect them and try to do better. I guess he's just that mentally strong and they need to get tough skin mentally. If these players complain about KG, then they would've been crying mommy and daddy when the 80's players such as Bird and the bad boys Pistons and 90's players such as Jordan and Payton said some trash talk.

Actually not true.  It's been awhile, but I'm pretty sure Frost himself said,

But I want one more point to keep.
From miles away I swish from deep.
From miles away I swish from deep."

Well, the point of the article wasn't to call out KG.  That was just a small part of it.  The anonymous part is just some thing ESPN is doing.  They have been having all sort of columns by anonymous players and coaches, in the hopes that they will saying something to grab headlines.

I think enough guys have gone on record calling KG things like that, where it isn't that big a deal anymore.

What is with these cry babies?  Is this the WNBA?!?!?!  Seems like it the way they don't let any of this drama go.  Have none of these idiots heard of the first rule of basketball?

Leave it on the court.

Do these guys (Noah, CV, Frye, Player X, etc.) really think any of the stuff Kevin Garnett says to them during the game is personal?  What are they taking offense about?

Also apparently Doc Rivers is a liar.

It's hard to guess who player X might be. He talks about the 90s in the beginning so he might be an older player. But usually older players don't call out KG. It's more of the younger crowd.

I think he's a wing player because he seems to know a lot about wing player tendencies. He also writes pretty well.

I think I'm going to guess Caron Butler. I know he wrote for hoopshype and he seems to have some sort of mean streak.

Is it Channing Frye that wrote this? Isn't he a wing and him and KG had a falling out.

I doubt its Channing Frye. I think FWF was right on, def a wing player.
