I know it is just two games
Its not just two games. He did play in 24-26 regular season games before the playoffs. I understand it doesn't compare to the whole training camp but he is talented enough to produce more than he has thus far.
Since we are just talking about box scores and stats, show me the stat-stuffing that Perk put up with regularity.
By my count, he had precisely ZERO double-doubles in the playoffs last year. His highs were 13 points and 12 rebounds. Hardly dominating. Want to talk about our lack of rebounding? Where was he to help?
Let's wait and see with Green. It was two games. In the regular season I recall seeing him abuse the second units opponents needed instant double-teams.
I would like to know in how many games Jeff Green "abused" the second unit of the opponent. My guess would be 3 or 4 at Max out of 26 games. Not too impressive. If the guy is not scoring, he really is offering nothing to this team. And the fact that Doc only played him 12 minutes tonight sends a pretty loud message.
See, that's the thing, it doesn't scream out at you in the box scores, much like Perks impact (which was my point).
I will assume you watch all/most C's games. He has few opportunities to take over because of the play-calling and his PT. Remember against Miami, he subbed in and went right at Miller and totally took advantage. Mike Miller CANNOT guard Jeff Green, for this I am positive. The box score may not reflect it, but anytime Miller is in against us (assuming both teams advance), please Doc put Green in.
Green is an unusual player. Maybe he isn't emotional enough for some, but he can do many things on the court. People like to talk about his rebounding, but in his first start for us he grabbed a team-high 15 boards. It's not easy going from a starter your whole life to getting minutes here and there throughout a game and having fans expect the world out of you.
And then Perk's 6-point, 7-rebound, 1-block, 0-assist, 3-turnover games are gems.
