Anyone have the number on the final rebounding rate? I know close to the end the Knicks were grabbing something like 42% of all available offensive rebounds .
Box score on NBA.com tells the story:  Knicks got 20 ORs, we got 28 DRs.  That is basically 42% of available ORs, and also double the C's own OR rate.

We won.....the game
Who cares?

If you look at game 7 2010, Lakers completely destroyed Celtics on the glass. But for all of those extra possessions, they only won by 4. Stop with this complaining

If rebounds were the end all be all, why does Kevin Love and the Wolves only have 17 wins?

Execution, execution, execution. That is how you win the game, and the Celtics did that

exactly, unfortunately the C's starters aren't full of guys with incredible leaping ability.  Rondo has great leaping ability, but he needs a bit of a running start.  J Green has good hops, but doesn't seem aggressive enough to use that to his advantage on the boards.  Von has good natural leaping ability...

we just need to use desire, hustle and position to do better on the glass.  it is 100% possible to be better than we were tonight.  Can't be any worse.

Leaping ability has little to do with rebounding. Size and length most certainly help, but determination and will mean just the same.

Kevin Love was THE rebounding machine this season, yet there are a handful of 4-5's on each team with better athleticism (and usually size) than him.

The C's have the right players to rebound, but apparently the wrong method/desire.
Agree, effort is the most important...but add positioning.  KG didn't get rebounds last night just because he is tall...he put in the effort and was in the right place to grab them.  I hate to always seem to harp on Davis, but Glen...you are a big man.  Use your size to clear some space for yourself under the basket and grab some rebounds!  The high post is not doing it for you.

To me, our poor rebounding has to do with our team defensive concept or strategy.

If we change how we defend we my be able to be a better rebounding team...but I doubt our team defense will be as good.

I also think the Knicks lineup favored them for awkward misses and long caroms off the rim. Their guys were quicker and longer to the ball so they could snatch the rebounds better than our guys who were slower and out of position due to our defensive schemes.

I feel like the main reason we nearly lost this game was at the FT line.

The Knicks who shot 14 more 3 pointers than us, also got to the line 13 more times than us.
