Doc Rivers "I can care less about our offense"

Hearing that come out of his mouth during the post game interview is mind blowing, seeing as how this teams' struggles are on the offensive end. He pretty much blames the defense for everything, but cares very little about the offense. This is disappointing. If they get knocked out of the playoffs, it will be because they go on a 8 minute scoring drought and are unable to score.

KG, Paul and Ray are pretty much past the point in thier careers where they need to be coached. The three of them have always been fantastic offensive players. There is nothing Doc can tell them at this point that is going to make them better. Rondo scored 30 points tonight, and the last few games dating back to the regular season he's been putting up tons of points.

Our offense is fueled by our defense. Paul can create his own shot, Rondo is left WIDE open all the time he doesnt even need to create a shot. He is getting better at shooting, and doing it more. Alot of people talk about this team and the 25 bad games they had, What about the 50 something good games they have had?

You can't be dominant all the time, some nights your shots aren't gonna fall. But if you're playing good D you can still win a game.

Why didn't he say that to Mr. Ainge before he made that trade? According to him we needed to upgrade our offense...yeah right. Nothing has changed...we still go through offensive droughts and have stretches where nothing falls.

I counted a half dozen times tonight when a player held the ball at the top of the key and there was literally NO MOTION happening. None. Zilch. Nobody moved for about 5 straight seconds. I'm not sure if this is by design or not, but that is horrible offense. There is no reason why these guys shouldn't be able to crack 100 against the New York Knicks defense. My worry about this team going forward is not on the defensive end, but on the offensive end. I worry about a team shutting them out for long stretches.

I think our slow-paced, half-court offense is why we dont put up tons of points. It's not like we're a low efficiency shooting team. We usually shoot around 45% unless we have a really bad game.

Maybe he's speaking in double talk.  Remember, saying that he can care less means that it's quite possible for him to care less about offense.  So maybe he does care a bit about it.  

Now if he couldn't care less, that'd be a different story...

our fast break starts with D for sure, and that's when Rondo really shines.

That happens to most teams though.

Yeah....but that's the crap Mr. Ainge tried to feed the Celtics nation after he made trade. He used our offensive droughts as a reason to justify himself. If every team goes through such phases why tinker with a team that was playing well and was no. 1 in the East. A decent SF to give PP some rest...that's all we needed.

Now with Shaq out, BBD is forced to play the C position and we are getting killed on the boards.

Actually, our problem today was stopping 'Melo or the scrubs we left open. Our offense was bad, but our defense was even worse.

I thought we were lucky to take Game 1. How we took Game 2 also is beyond me.

We need to start playing better, plain and simple. You can pick and choose which end you would like to start on, but we need to be smoother on offense and stifler (is that even a word?) on defense.

Am i the only one really concerned about the offense?  All of the remaining playoff teams play excellent defense, yet the Celts offense has still not come together and are able to consistently put up points. There is very little motion in the offense, and it's easily stagnated. Maybe i'm the only one, but this worries me quite a bit.

And hey Doc, what's the point of your team playing lights out defense, when nobody can secure a loose ball. Might want to try inserting some guys into the lineup who can at least attempt to rebound the basketball, like Murphy.
