How bad of a no call was that?

It's pretty unsettling that NBA refs can't make a call like that especially at that stage of the game.

Were they the only people in the building that didn't see it?

Did they just panic and wait too long to blow the whistle?

That was strange. I guess it can't be reviewed either, sorta like playing 5-on-6 against Portland.

I'll say this...goaltending and offensive interference are really tough calls to make in real time without the help of slow motion and the aerial, above the hoop cam.

BUT, this ball was so clearly over the cylinder that it was shocking they let it go...even in real time. It didn't look even close to being out of the cylinder. I don't know how 3 guys missed it, but you had a crew led by Bill Kennedy so what do you expect?

I have this eerie feeling that in their effort to "let them play because it's the playoffs", the refs have not only started to allow more contact, but also stopped calling violations. It's some sort of a strange inertia: if bodying up someone is not a foul anymore, then tipping a ball in the cylinder is not a goaltending, that type of stuff. It doesn't make any sense. But then again, playoff refereeing rarely does, at least to me.

Yeah, you know it was a bad call because the NBA didn't even attempt to justify it with one of those "the ball was rolling off the rim", etc., arguments.  It's hard to call a game 100% perfectly, but this was a fairly egregious mistake.

i never thought I would see the day when Perk is the one to get the benefit of the officials in a key moment of a playoff game, but I guess that's what happens when you are not on the celtics.

The nba might want to consider instituting some sort of automatic review of a play (like how the nfl does) in the last 2 minutes of the game. they should be allowed to review a play if there is question (it would need to be defined more clearly tho otherwise a coach would question every fouled called against them). it definitely would slow down the end of a close game, but at least the refs would get the calls right and the game will end as fair as possible.

There is a clearly defined set of reviewable calls, and goaltending is not one of them.

Meh, am I the only one that doesn't think the call was that big of a deal? There was still a minute left to play, and the game wasn't decided on that one "blown" call. In my opinion, the refs called a pretty balanced game. :\

I thought that play changed the momentum of the game.  If that violation was called and Denver won the game, I wonder if the pundits would have been talking about how Perk got abused in that game, similar to what people here complain about Kristic.  But since they won, no mention of it.
