No surprise: C's didn't even try to put Shaq thru morning test and coach Doc Rivers says he's out for Game 2.

I think we could use him, but only God knows if he'll return at all this postseason, which I think he is not.

If it really is just the calf strain hopefully he'll be good to go by the second round (if the C's take care of the Knicks)

Why don't the Celtics just say now that he is out for at least this entire series? This really is ridiculous. The guy has not run yet, never mind practice, and we are supposed to think he might be back this series? He has played a total of 5 minutes in about 3 months and has not practiced once. Why don't the Celts just quit with the charade now?  ::)

It would be fantastic to wrap the series up in 4 games, get extra practice and rest for everyone, and take some pressure off Shaq. The last thing I want is him returning too early.

no surprise..but we gotta get more out of davis/krstic. baby can't go 1-8 each game. he bogs the offense down so much and i don't know why he has the ball in his hands late in the shot clock

Agreed, just say he is out until further notice and leave it at that. I hate these constant updates that he "will not play" - it's like with KG two years ago.

Give it up. He will not return. Even if we win in 4, they will say he just needs a practice and then he won't be able to practice again after like a month of rest since his last game. I can already see it: "Shaq out for Game 1 against the Heat."

Because the Knicks will leave him open to trap or deny other offensive players.

Except they said KG was done right from the start once we got to the playoffs.

Only the media was making up things about his "super secret return" if we made the ECF while we were playing the Magic.

Just start a "Shaq out until further notice" thread. Nobody knows when he'll be back.

EDIT: Didn't see ScoobyDoo's post. Great minds think alike. ;D

Because the other 4 players on the court have lollygagged for 22 or so seconds, and need a bailout shot.

I counted at least 2-3 possessions on which Davis was forced, by no fault of his own, to take a suboptimal jumper to avoid the shot clock violation.

I understand it's modern to scapegoat Davis these days, but the rest of the team needs to be held accountable, too.

Shaq is COOKED. This team only goes as far as "not so gentle" Jermaine takes them.

In the immortal words of one Rick Pitino, "Kendrick Perkins is not walking through that door, fans. Leon Powe is not walking through that door, and Shaq is not walking through that door - and if you expect him to, he's still going to be injured and old."

It's over for shaq. It's pretty obvious at this point the guy cant even walk, let alone go hard at it in a playoff game. Once i heard them say he couldn't even jog in practice cus the pain was too much, I knew it was over.

Shaq needs to take this series off. I believe he will try and come back for the Miami series, though, on one leg or two. This could very well be his last year. I believe he will give it everything he has and play through the pain. I believe in Shaq's greatness and his heart.
