So, I went to the game and let me tell you not to many people in my section thought we were gonna win. Especially after rondo threw the ball away with 50 seconds left. Honestly, Ray hit a huge shot....but lets give it up for Doc for the play of the game with that alley oop. D'Antoni musta been  ???.

But I noticed a couple things in a very slow first half, which I will barely touch upon.
-Celtics passed up way to many shots. Hopefully that was just nerves.
-Rondo seemed intimidated by Amare and Turiaf.
-Ray got NO looks.
-Celtics werent closing out on shooters, and Bill Walker looked good.
-KG actually came out of the gate.....nervous? (3 airballs and a couple wild shots.)

But heres what I took out of the game, Glen Davis is a changed man. Remeber the Glen Davis in the Finals who banged around Bynum, and pushed around Dwight Howard in Eastern COnference finals? And Glen used to let the jump shot come to him. Now it is vice-versa. Glen Davis is a waste of 300 pounds of muscle. he doesnt crash the boards anymore, and doesnt even get his feet wet in the offensive boards. Honestly, in the first half....it seeemed as if the offense was being ran through glen. And one possesion glen actually had the ball looking to score from 35 feet. Come on. He needs to play like he did early in the season, big, mean, bully ball.

Also, jeff Green didnt look bad. He didnt get any looks, and when he did he knocked down a big jumper to keep the momentum. When he is in the game with BBD, delonte, pierce, krtstic, he NEEDS to get lookks!! He can score, and is way to tentative and out of place.

Overall, second half celtics bailed them out

BUT there offense was stagnant for 3 and a half quarters and there offense came off of JON defense They really need to go back to how they used to run the offense. Rondo drive and dish, BBD playing bully ball, and getting Paul and Ray open looks.

Good point about BBD.  He used to be much better at the little big-man things, like position, box-outs, bumping a guy off the spot...fundamental big man skills that Clifford Ray used to teach.

Big Baby was always a very weak rebounder.

. And one possesion glen actually had the ball looking to score from 35 feet.

Is this a joke?

Glen Davis didn't play badly yesterday. He has had much worse games.

He missed shots, but mostly because the team forced him to take too many bad ones. Not his fault.

I think he's referring to BBD taking the ball to halfcourt and heaving it at then end of the quarter. (first? I can't remember) Not something I fault him for though, only 2 seconds left and no one was all that open down the court.

I didn't mind BBD's game last night. If he's defending Amar'e at the passable level he was able to provide I'll take it.

End of the 3rd, IIRC. That criticism makes no sense, if the OP actually meant it, he did well taking that shot.

1-8 from the floor and 0-2 from the line?! He was FORCED by the team to take bad shots?! He has been "forced" to take bad shots all season long I guess. Poor BBD who would like to take good shots  but instead is being pressed into taking bad ones by his teammates... Usually with 15-16 seconds left in the shot clock...

As far as 300 lbs of muscle, BBD is 250 lbs of muscle and about 50 lbs of pork rinds...

I distinctly remember one of the shots that BBD took that somehow rolled in (it was an awkward runner in the lane) he had an absolutely WIDE open Krstic right underneath the basket. He could have literally put it up for Krstic to alley-oop or dumped it right to him for an easy dunk.

Now, I realize that 1) he made the shot and 2) it was Krstic of all people underneath, but it just was another instance where BBD showed to me that he is a huge blackhole offensively and is a ball stopper. He rarely continues the ball movement once he receives a pass and that is our downfall offensively. He was doing fine when he let the shots come to him. Now, he is clearly forcing shots and trying to do too much.

I used to love BBD but he has slowly made me loath him. What really irritates me is that he is taking precious minutes away from Jeff Green who could use those extra minutes to get it going and be a huge boost for us and for himself confidence-wise. I just don't get Doc's rationale with using BBD so much and Green so little

I think this statement speaks the world about Glen's poor play overall in the second half of the season. If last night wasn't "playing badly" - I can only imagine how bad his worst games are.

As a long time doubter (not a hater tho) of BBD, I'm torn: on the one hand more and more are seeing my POV. On the other hand its killing the Celtics. BBD as the 4th big is a great luxury, BBD as the 3rd big is not a fun experience. He did seem to be competing hard - no lazy D and going after boards and he's one of those guys who does better when he turns up the motor, so I'm hoping for a Shrek game, even if he doesn't have donkey.

Glen Davis takes alot of bad shots but I'm sure alot of the plays are ran for him to take those shots or drive, he just has been in the habit of taking the long jumper.  Its like he is pre-programmed not to read the play totally or not read where he is on the floor.  he just shoots it.  The long jumper is what makes a team's offense stagnant and inefficient.  I much rather him despite being open from a long range drive in and take a shorter jumper or create something better.   He is much better at the shorter range jumpers.  I think defenses are more aware of his shorter range jumpers and forcing him out further.  I think Baby should have more awareness to not just heave up a shot because he is open.  He should have more awareness of his range.

If Baby keeps it up you'll be watching someone other than the Celtics. No points, no rebounds and absolutely no defense.

One game? really?  That stat-line is hardly as bad as you make it seem.  What about the Pierce game where he went 0 for 10?  Calling a member of your own team a "waste" and a professional athlete, whose quickness has been one of his major strengths, "fat" is ignorant.  The numbers I put up are his averages for the entire season.
It is ignorant to insult your own players when they have done nothing but sacrifice their body and work hard for your team.  It is ignorant to think Glen Davis is not a SMOY candidate.  It is ignorant to second guess the entire Celtics coaching staff.  These should be fairly self-evident facts.
