  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
I really wanted this beast if we couldn't get Howard to suit up in Green and White next year. I think he's one of the most underrated players in the NBA/world and would've loved to see him crashing the boards for us.
I guess the good thing about this is he isn't going to the Heat, Magic or Knicks.

"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

We wouldn't have had cap space to sign him this summer anyway.

Yeah, good for Zach Randolph.

Potentially bad for the Grizzlies depending on how he responds to his second big deal. I wonder how much Marc Gasol is going to get now?

Yeah, I hope Gasol doesn't leave. Grizzlies have a GREAT young core

I'm not a believer.  That'll be a regret contract sooner or later.

  • Rondo = Good
Isn't he like 30 now?  Guaranteed the latter years of that contract are going to be bad.

The word out of Tn (where I live), is that the Grizzlies can't afford three max players. Most thought Zach would be the odd man out. There is no way they are getting rid of Gasol, which leads me to believe Rudy Gay could be had. I could see a team (with cap room) possibly landing Mayo and Gay for a good low salary player and multiple draft picks.

I'll take bad decisions for 300 , Alex.

Right, I think the see how this team is doing with out Rudy and will take there chances without him in the future.  Bad move, IMO.

Why would you expect him to drop off in 4 years?  Yes, he's approaching 30, but for a post player (especially one who has never depended on speed/athleticism for success, 34 isn't old at all. Plus he's been consistently producing around the same level for nearly a decade with no drop off.

I see him as a perfect candidate for a long term deal right now.  He's a proven performer, and at an age now where most of the issues he had outside the lines seem to have been out grown.

If I was memphis, I'd do all I can to lock up zbo, gasol, and TA. Thats a solid offense/defense core.  I'm not too sure how I feel about Gays max deal, or conleys deal tho...If those deals come in the way of resigning Gasol it'll suck.

Randolph always becomes a cancer to his team and needs to be traded.

I think he's a typical contract year guy. He'll play great to get that deal, and then go into his Zach being Zach mode.

Great stats, great skill, but a little too much Derrick Coleman-esque for my blood.

As a Grizzlies fan I was all in favor of letting Zbo walk and promoting Darrel Arthur and resigning Gasol. Now I'm nervous they're about to screw up a good thing.

Actually he was great for them last year too and received nothing but praise from his teammates and the coaching staff.

Basketball wise, it's very bad. Financially I think they have to. I've been to the Fed Ex Forum several times and it's never even close to being sold out. Most nose bleed sections sell for $5 a ticket in monthly packages.
