Did I miss something or are we talking about the same Perk that scored 4 points for OKC. The same Perk that left such a hole in our defense and improved their defense so much that the Knicks scored 85 points on us and Denver got 103 on OKC? Oh yeah, that was because of match ups.
I feel bad for Perk because he is a warrior but his surgically repaired knee already appears to be wearing down. I feel like either Perk of JO could go down on any play.
Trying to compare Perk and Green can only get you to the realization that they were both viewed as expendable by their teams because they both played positions that were perceived to have depth (it may turn out that DA was wrong about that but that is what he must have thought at the time). We could afford to trade Perk because we had SO, JO, etc and OKC felt they could backfill Green just fine.
We needed a young, athletic, healthy wing and we got Green who may or may not come though to the level we need him to in the playoffs. OKC needed a physical center and frankly were willing to give up a lot to get him even though he came with a clear and immediate health concerns.
So I guess Green and Perk will now be forever linked.
