  • GOT IT!!!
C's bench was really outplayed by a much worse Knicks bench tonight 24-8. That cannot happen if banner 18 is going to happen. Baby stuck out like a sore thumb yet he had the highest +- on the team tonight with +13.  ???

Yeah, it has to but overall the biggest culprit was Davis. I thought Delonte played great D (especially in the 2nd half) but didn't look for his shot at all, Green played great D on Melo but got a few touches offensively. Krstic was awful though but didn't play much.

Doc needs to use the bench better to begin with. He really threw some really crappy unit with our bench players.

Delonte was great in his short stint, he also said a really good pick for Ray Allen which gave us a 3.

Big Baby needs to step up, he's our 6th man. I have confidence he will, but stop playing him against Amare.
Celtics' turn on switch for the playoffs: the last bastion of hope for battered Celtic fans.

I think Krstic being awful is a bit of an overstatement, though he clearly wasn't moving well, he recently got a bone bruised in practice and it was clearly bothering him. At least in his 4 minutes of play he grabbed 2 rebounds, including an offensive one that led to a score/assist.

But Davis was awful and once again Doc is using him too much and in some very awful units.

A healthy Shaq would mean so much, since we wouldn't have to rock the Green/BBD 4/5 lineup.

Still, I'd like to see them run more plays for Green.  They more or less sit him on the weakside and wonder why they don't get any production from him.

They should be having him play a 2 man game with whatever starter is out there and let him take the burden off of the starters so even when they're playing long minutes, they don't have to do everything.

agree with the topic.  bench as got to deliver when called upon.  too many guys that can score that aren't.  Green, Krstic, Delonte and BBD can all add to the offense but it's far too rare when they do

Yes, you're right, didn't realize he had two rebounds but overall he was very limited physically.

As for Davis, I honestly don't know why Doc sticks with him that much when he can play Green at the 4. I know it's not his strong suit but still it can't be worse than Davis "production" and it certainly can be better.

And I agree that Doc used very strange lineups, a couple of times we saw basically the whole bench with a lone starter, a thing Doc said he would not do in the playoffs. Weird.

What's weird is having Green at the 4, but with Davis at the 5. I hate that. If you're going to play Green at the 4 it has to be with JO or KG, else it makes no sense.

I wanted to see more Delonte, and I wanted to see him get more shots.  Davis should not take more shots than Green or Delonte.  Simply should not happen.

Baby laid an egg tonight. But Delonte and Green had an effect on the game, regardless of the unimpressive stats. Both of them were hustling their butts off in there, making clutch shots down the stretch, playing good defense. Anyone else think its kinda funny how Delonte has become our best screen setter (only half sarcastic)?

Davis took like 5 shots with the shot-clock expiring. When a guy like him is put by the team in a situation like that, asked to force shots with the clock going down, good chance he'll never find his rhythm through out the game. His confidence just vanishes.

How much time did he hold the ball before he got into that situation? About 6 seconds?
