Rose actually just MADE more free throws than were actually taken by the Indiana Pacers.

Rose - 18/20

Indiana - 11/17

Kind of disgusting, actually.

Did you watch the game? The guy is relentless going to the rim. Normally i'm all for questioning the refs but you gotta give the guy his due he lives in the paint so of course he gets lots of foul calls.

No...this was more. This was really an eye opener.  If today is an example of what can be expected, then the Bulls are even more difficult to handle. The Pacers seemed to completely dominate them for most of the game, but every time they got to a point where they could push them over the edge, the refs stepped in to stop the momentum.  Yes, part was Rose penetrating, but I think it went well beyond that. It'll be hard for anyone to win against that.

The NBA will benefit much more financially from the Bulls accomplishing something than they will from Indiana overachieving. It's too bad, but they'll give the MVP freebies all night long if that's what it takes to help them win.

I'm glad you started this thread, I actually just came over here to point out the same thing haha. TP

But... he is the MVP! What did you expect?

TP. Yes, it is sickening, but it is what I expected. Hopefully Indy steals at least 1 game in this series. The Bulls defense was exposed.

Why should anyone be surprised. He goes to the paint and gets contact to go to the foul line. Also the MVP and his team couldnt lose to the 8th seed that they're supposed to sweep Indiana Pacers. ESPN and them can't get embarrassed and admit they're wrong. Besides that Rose plays well and knows how to get to the line AND he makes his freethrows unlike a person on this team wearing the number 9. I respect someone who ups their game an Rose did that this year and he's clutch when needed. I tip my hat to him.

The fact is he is almost always the instigator when it comes to creating contact, so honestly a lot of those fouls should have been charges, not blocks.

I only caught a few minutes of the game, but that's pathetic.

20 FT's for one player is A LOT, regardless of how well he can penetrate. But it's only one game. If he takes 4 the next game, then fine. If he takes another 15+, then Indy is getting the shaft.

I hate when the box score is so lopsided in the fouls/fta department. Granted, sometimes one team is attacking (or conversely, careless) and this can be the justified, but especially in the playoffs, over a series, it seems unlikely.

I guess I am scarred for life from Game 7 and all those fouls and free throws for the Fakers.

Reminds me of the Celtics game against the Bulls when Rose shot 19 free throws and the Celtics as a team shot just 22.  Stern couldn't take a chance with that game.  He had the evil triumvirate of Joey Crawford, Bennett Salvatore, and Violet Palmer on the job.  3 of the worst all in one game.  UGH!  Better them than us, though.

Yeah that was just about the worst thing ever. There are 2 reasons why we lost that game: letting them get a bajillion offensive rebounds (which is just a nice blame-deflecting way of saying that the celtics couldn't rebound to save their lives), and all of those bogus trips to the free throw line.

But a lot of those bogus trips to the line came after they collected an offensive rebound, so I refuse to fully blame the refs, and in my mind I condense the reasons for the loss into simply failing to rebound.

How about the Pacers learn to defend in the final two minutes?  ::)

It sucks, but that's the way this league works.  To his credit, the man is amazingly quick and catches defenders who aren't in position every time

i actually watched the game, Rose was getting hard fouled like crazy, every time he went to the rim, someone would slap him up...

look at his percentage, he was 0-9 from 3 point range, the Pacers made him work, Rose worked for all his 39 points
