I like this quote by Jeff Green on the trade and expectations, if he will produce, looks like KG got in his ear that's the attitude Jeff  ;D

Quote
“We’ll have to see,” Green said “If we win, everything is fine. But if we lose, then people always have something to say. We just have to win to shut everybody up.”

To be honest, I don't see Jeff Green as an important part of this team.  IF he doesn't perform well, the team can still win and it won't make much of a difference.  It is best if just shuts up and plays hard!

You can say that about any individual one player on our team.

I don't know about that one...for starters each member of the big 4 needs to play decently at least.

Teams that go deep in the playoffs always have one X-factor role player that steps up and plays on that level.  If that player doesn't step up, the team doesn't make it over the hump.  When we did it in 08, we had key minutes, stops, and buckets from Poesy.  BBD has provided some key playoff minutes, as did TA.  In all three cases, it raised their next contract price (or, in BBD's case, he hopes so).

Could Jeff Green be the X-factor for this C's playoff run?  I don't think anyone doubts that possibility, but this series should be the one in which he shines.  That is, if he shines at all.

But I think he is the key to the Knicks series.

Carmelo and Pierce will battle to a draw, as will Amare and KG.  The Knicks will play fast and loose, which lets the ball move and other guys shine.  Ray's production will be matched by the Knicks shooters as well.  It will come down to the bench guys outplaying their bench guys and leting our starting 4 breathe.

Kinda like Perk at the beginning of the season when we were winning and he wasn't even dressed? ;)

TP,Earlier i was thinking about starting a thread who would be the X Factor in round#1 of the playoffs.I agree with you 100%. My choices in round #1 are Jeff Green for the C's and if i had to pick someone from the Knicks it would be Tony Douglas.

Well during playoff time I think it is a different story...they need a Perk. like player a lot more now to win...I see Green as relatively irrelevant.

This is a playoffs - a whole different monster - what's with everyone bringing all this BS negativity to the table?!  This is Jeff's opportunity to step up, defend the pick and roll, take charges, hit his jumpers, and torch the other team's second unit. I think Jeff Green is going to be HUGE for us in the playoffs. He's going to keep the scoring up while Pierce is out - and maybe most importantly, he's a big, fast body we can put on Lebron and Kobe.

well, he's got the sentiments right.  start winning to shut everyone up.  Lose, and everyone will be all over him (and the team) like stink on crap.

This is actually refreshing to hear because it sounds like an 'us against the world' mentality is brewing, finally.
