Any theory for why Doc is so willing to make Baby the #2 big in terms of minutes?

I don't understand how Doc cannot see that BBD's play declines considerably when he plays big minutes + that BBD has wrecked physically for weeks now and that he badly needs some rest. Tired legs ... Doc is doing BBD no favours in how he is handling Davis.
