So excited for the playoffs. I've noticed a trend during the past couple years. The teams with excellent regular season records always get cocky during the playoffs and are usually exposed. The Cavs were exposed in 09 and 10. The Magic were exposed last year after sweeping their first two rounds. The Lakers were overconfident during the early rounds of both 09 and 10, causing inferior teams to drag out the series. Heck, even the Celtics got cocky with their 66-16 record in 08, causing the Hawks to take them to 7 games. I think that in the end, the best team won the championship during every one of those years, but overconfidence almost got the best of those teams (2008 through 2010), nearly knocking them out of the playoffs against an inferior team (Hawks in 08, Rockets in 09, Thunder in 10).
I LOVE that the Celtics are under the radar right now. Overconfidence doesn't bring championships. The Heat and Bulls are so confident they can beat the Celtics (based on what, the final games of the regular season? Give me a break...), and they'll be facing a whole new monster in the playoffs. I'm almost positive Rondo's been holding back for the playoffs. We'll get to finally see what a healthy, driven Celtics team can do in the underdog role, once again.
Let's do this.
