Can anyone blame his "fake" injuries and lack of games?

I'm not sure what you mean.  Are you saying that Shaq has been taking games off that he could have otherwise played because he's not being compensated enough?  Or that we shouldn't be disappointed in Shaq, because we've already gotten our money's worth?

To me, his salary is largely irrelevant going forward.  He was a smart signing at the time.  However, reasonable minds can disagree over whether it was worth betting the season (in large degree) on his and JO's playoff health.

Oh?  And what say you on that front, Counsel?

What what what what what what?

Are you implying Shaq is faking his injuries because his salary is too low?

They're not fake injuries and just overall, no.

You know I wasn't pleased when I found out Shaq signed with the Celtics.  But every minute he's played, he's played with the most energy and hustle.  Any 39 year old who sacrifices his body like that for our team has nothing but 100% support from me.

For an extra 5 million Shaq would of played in 2.5 more games and 1 playoff series.

Well, for those 25-30 games that he has played in for Boston so far, he's been a steal.

And once he comes back, he will once again look great working with the starters.

It will all click here once again soon.

Shaquille O'Neal has been well worth it, and I am looking forward to him grinning in Kobe Bean's face in June right after we've beaten them.

Off topic, but is Kobe's middle name really Bean?

JoT - yep.

Here's a bio for him from imdb.com. I think it has something to do with his father's name being Joe "Jelly Bean" Bryant.

First of all I don't think they're "fake."

And if so then yes, I can blame him.

Shaq didn't sign here for money: he signed here to stop Kobe from getting six rings, and to get a fifth ring of his own. Shaq doesn't need any more money...the dude's set for life with advertisements and the money he's already accrued.

You make it sound like he was forced to sign with us for the minimum...wasn't Dallas or someone offering him the mid-level exception? He wants to be here, and he wants to win. However, he is 39, and at 39 yrs old and 300+ pounds, you have to take care of your body and save whatever's left in the tank for the games that actually matter (playoffs).

That right there is why he signed with us.  And if Phil is not pulling a Favre, then Kobe may never have one more than Shaq.
