No way in hell
Mikki more was the Celtics' missing link in 2009

Can't say the same for Troy Murphy

Troy's hurt.

Mikki couldn't play.

It's an open question whether Murphy can ever get back to the level of play he showed in Indiana, but he's clearly not right.  I'd like to see him in the fall (ideally on a non-guaranteed contract) because he was a pretty good baller, much better than Moore *ever* was.

The results have been the same.  Still, swapping Semih for Troy Murphy (in effect), that was a decent gamble.  Not going to give Danny any grief about that.

Mikki Moore was a waste of a signing, just like Murphy...

He was soft defensively and couldn't rebound, big for no reason

Difference is that Mikki Moore was brought here to be a back-up center. Troy Murphy was brought here as the last player in the depth chart in the center position for insurance.

Sorry, but your analysis is lacking.

Wow are you kidding me?!?! Semih was a yound true BIG man who is a decent prospect, Murphy is quite possibly a washed up has been. I agree with dumping Luke(The white version of Big Baby??) he was undersized for his true position but not Semih...

Semih was/is a bad rebounder, a bad defender, was hurt, and from some accounts is likely to return to Europe next year.  I certainly have seen worse big men in my years of watching the C's, but best-case he projected out to being an OK backup.  If he was getting major minutes in the playoffs, we were in trouble.

Troy Murphy, when healthy, was a proven double-double machine.

Troy Murphy has looked a little better lately, I didnt expect him to be this out of shape when he 1st came but, he looks like hes in better shape now.

we'll lets see...

Mikki -

19 mins - 4.8 ppg - 4.4 Rebs - 1.0 assist - 60% Shooting

Troy -

11 mins - 2.6 ppg - 2.2 Rebs - .4 assist - 42% Shooting

Since Troy brings zero intangibles to close the gap (can there be negative intangibles?) - Mikki wins the battle of scary looking useless big men

Mikki had the benefit of playing a lot of minutes with the big 3. I don't think Murphy played with them at all since he came. Plus Moore was healthy, Murphy not. And last, where's the stat for dumb fouls?

Troy is waaay better than Mikki... The problem with Troy is he's playing hurt. Bad ankle... He's just in a bad situation right now... Troy is also a shooter....

Mikki was a fringe player who had one decent season in NJ..

Murphy like some of the other bench players really haven't been put in an opportunity to succeed yet.  Doc's been giving them no chance to get a rhythm by playing him and other 3-4 minutes at a time.  Case in point last nights game gave guys a chance to relax and just play.  Murphy looked pretty decent.  And why isn't Murphy getting any looks at 3's?  He's almost a career 40% shooter from distance.  Seems like the black hole known as baby could defer some shots to Murph.  He's a finesse player but isn't being utilized the right way...

No way.  Murphy is way better.  Many of Moore's fouls were so bad, they should have been classified in the turnover column.
