With the labor agreement coming up this offseason I would love to see the nba make chages to the NBDL. They need to make this league into more of a true minor league affiliate.
I would like to see every team get there own d leauge team.
Expand the NBA draft to 3 rounds
1st round gets nba contract guarantee
2nd and 3rd get Dleague guarentee
The nba team then holds the rights to there 2nd and 3rd for 1 season while in dleague, with out taking an nba roster spot, then have first rights to them after that season (maybe team option that pays them like the last pick in 1st round for 2 years?)
Still let the 1st rounder float to dleague while taking a roster spot
Do some cross promotions like allstar week rookies vs dleague allstar team
I think these changes will help develop younger players and keep roster spots for veterans to actually help teams win instead of "projects" taking up room on benches
