Charles Barkley says Lakers won't win championship this year

Anybody hear him on TNT halftime segment about the Lakers? 

They won't win the championship this year.

Kobe is slow. Derek Fisher is slow.

They can only play good in short spurts because that fat lady is over there singing!

lol yeah h had CLE winning it all last year i love barkley & all but his downfall he lives & dies in the moments of the regalur season i have the thunder winning the west finals so i'd have to agree this time around about LA not winning it i think they peaked way to early

Says the guy who thought LeBron was gonna win last year and the year before. The king still has no ring Charles while Kobe whom he said was done and wouldn't win anymore has two more.
I don't know if the Lakers will win this year, but I wouldn't doubt them and Charles shouldn't too.

I actually agree with him this time.  I think LA depends a lot on having HCA and they won't have it after the second round (perhaps not after the first).  I also think there are more than a couple teams that have a very solid chance of defeating LA (especially Chicago and Miami). 

Best chance the Lakers have of winning the championship is if they somehow manage to get past San Antonio in the conference finals and then are lucky enough to face the Celtics in the Finals.

That's good. I'm betting on Oklahoma in the Western conference though.

Not just b/c I disliske them, but I'd bet against the Lakers too. They've got a significantly more difficult path to the finals this year, and I don't think they've got enough to make it over each hill.

Nothing would make me happier then avoiding another Lakers three-peat, but team for team I don't see them getting stopped coming out of the West. The Spurs are a regular season team, I think they can be figured out in a 7 game series, here's hoping the Thunder go nuts for a couple of months.

I could see the Thunder, Mavericks and Blazers beating the Lakers. I really like Portland's team this year.

LA is certainly looking primed to be picked off this year in the West.  The Bynum uncertainty can't make things any better.

Western Conference playoffs are going to be very interesting.  Its not necessarily a Laker walk-through like it was looking not too long ago.

No team has even a 50% chance to win the championship right now, so any statement like that is easy to make.  You could say that about the top 6 teams right now and will likely be right about 5 of them.

He's an idiot though when it comes to predictions.
