Being a BC Eagles fan the guy I would love to see them get is OT Anthony Castanzo. Kid is a beast OT and will be one of the better OT in the game for the next 10 years. Just my opinion but I think he is that good.

I second that, he is also a high character guy, very smart, wants to cure cancer etc.

I hope the Pats take Locker if he's there. I think he is a franchise QB and could be groomed to take over after Brady...

Sure, he's had some misses but Belichick is still one of the best in the business when it comes to draft whether its personnel or stockpiling assets.  Wouldn't be shocked to see that Pats come out of this draft with an additional first or second rounder in the 2012 draft.  That's just the way he works.  It creates flexability.

I've been pounding it into the ground on here for months but I want to see them get younger on the OL and address the DL. A pass rushing OLB too.  If they're addressing RB or WR, I prefer they do it in the mid-rounds.

I'm not a huge Belichick guy just because of how he handles himself but he rarely misses with high picks...

I think it's a risky thing to do, taking a QB then grooming him behind your undeniable starter. But it could work.

I don't think this is true if you go back and look at all the high picks he's used. (though I suppose it depends on how you define a pick as "high")

He has been pretty darn good with his first rounders.  Ben Watson is probably his biggest first round miss though I may be missing somebody.

oh god how could i forget maroney.  Ok Maroney is the biggest miss, thoug he did have some good spurts.

well I was thinking in particular relation to the fact that we have an upper first round pick this year. so picks like seymour, warren, wilfork, mankins, mayo, mccourty...all pretty much studs

Yeah that's what I meant, if you take high as first day picks I don't think he's that amazing. But if you're talking high first round picks, yes I'd say he's very good.

Course who other than the raiders are bad with high first round picks :)

I don't really follow football because of my basketball obsession but I know Jordan Todman may be a potential draft pick of the Patriots (he worked out for them) and he went to my high school so I knew him personally.

Interesting and a bit of a tease.  Is there more you can tell about him, in terms of intangibles, off the field stuff?
Celtics fan for life.

Most teams, the miss rate at the top of the first round is much higher than you'd think. Especially when you control for the fact that a big investment of money means they'll get lots of playing time to prove themselves.

I think I'd rather see them go after Ricky Stanzi later in the draft, late 3rd or 4th.
