Celtics in 7.  It will more closely resemble the series two years ago against the Bulls than any of us would like.  The Knicks will be a tougher opponent than any of us (including the Celtics) anticipate.
agreed.
the knicks are clicking right now, the cs are not. 'nuff said.

Yeah but they're clicking against the likes of New Jersey, Toronto, Cleveland, and Indiana. The only "good" win they had in the last 7 games was against Orlando, maybe Philly.

Before that they had lost 9 of their last 10 games.

I don't know, I think having momentum going into the playoffs is overrrated. Look at the Celtics and Lakers last year, they both ended the season on a losing streak.

Prediction, C's in 5.  Knicks get one game on their home court.

C's will do their best to perpetuate belief in the 'switch'.  they should be good for a solid 1st round domination over the Knicks with their lack of depth.

Second round may be a different story.

Solid points.  I still think it will be harder than fans on here realize.  People have stuck in their minds that the Knicks were the team that imploded post-Melo trade.  But they have steadily improved, even if against inferior opponents (can we say the same thing about the Cs?).

I think the main reason the Cs will win is that the playoffs allow players to rest between games, which favors older experienced teams like the Cs.  I'm happy as a kid in a candy store that there are no more back-to-backs for this team this season.
Celtics fan for life.

in a 7 game series, generally the better team will win...

The knicks dont play defense and dont have depth...if the Celtics ramp up their effort on offense/defense theyll dominate the Knicks

same reason im not too worried about the heat...sure they beat us...but we played lethargic. if we play the heat like we did the first 3 times we did then we should be able to beat them as well..

Celtics in 6.

Billups and Melo will come up in the clutch to help them win a couple of games.

  • Let them hate, as long as they fear
Ill have to wait till the sesries is over to know how the Celtics will fare. I've been trying to guess the lottery winner numbers for 30 yrs. and Im still typing on a computer. Guess Im no good at the guessing game.

Game 1: Celtics
Game 2: Celtics
Game 3: Knicks
Game 4: Celtics
Game 5: Celtics

I'm thinking we see this as our rotation for the 1st round...

PG: Rondo/West(hopefully)/Arroyo
SG: Allen/Wafer
SF: Pierce/Green
PF: Garnett/Davis
C: S. O'Neal (hopefully)/J. O'Neal/Krstic

Inactive:
Bradley
Murphy
Pavlovich

If West's healthy, I think you've got to have him backing up Allen ahead of Wafer.

From a manpower perspective, the C's probably don't need Shaq for this series.  From a confidence perspective, they absolutely do.

I don't think Shaq is very important against the Knicks.

I wonder when Bill Simmons will come out with his Ik the Celtics will lose to the Knocks in the first round article will come out  ::).

Celtics in 5 even though I would not be surprised if the Knicks win games 3 and 4 and we take them in 6.

I agree with this. That momentum, if you can really call it that goes right out the window when teams start clamping down for real.
