I think questions like these just arise from the fact that people are still very upset by the loss of Perk. Of course Roy (or any Celtics diehard) would be upset if we lost in the playoffs, but it would justify their opinion that trading Perk was a horrible idea. We'll never know for sure how this team would have played had there been no trade and I think that is the most frustrating part for all of us. I just wish everyone was a little happier...

I think most of the anti-trade folks would be very happy to be wrong.

What you mean is that they would prefer to make the argument that the C's would have won the championship more easily with Perk, rather than having to just scrape it out without him ;)

Haha.  Probably.

But hey, I'd like nothing more than for Nenad Krstic to go for 20/20 and Jeff Green to hit the game-winning three against the Lakers in Game 7.

this is just coach talk , i dont know the exact reason he would say this and put it out there, only doc knows, but its phycological

same thing phil jackson does

this team is even better then last year, the have a better roster

just come out with the same type of intensity and focus they did last year in the playoffs and everything will be fine

the players know whats at stake

Yep, more then happy. I hate the trade. I hate how this teams played after the trade.

But if I'm wrong and we win it all then I'll be the first one here to admit that I was off.
Peace through Tyranny

this trade for will pay off in the playoffs

i think perkins has really been overated

and i like perkins, but the excuses are always pointed at the trade for why the celtics are performing like this

i dont see the connection

seriously guys, help me on this. I don't recall ANYONE playing ten minutes last year as if Doc was holding him back, in those last 54 games. I DO recall KG looking 105 and everyone not hustling for boards and Sheed chuking up threes, but does anyone have any recall of us playing guys fewer minutes, like Doc is saying?

Its different this year because Rajon is playing awful instead of KG, but thats about it.

Yeah.  I'm pretty sure Doc is making a lot of that up.  I don't quite get it, as the players won't likely fall for a mind game based in a fallacy.

Who knows...

Last year's team is the only team I can ever remember getting credit for flipping a switch and losing anyway.

Where is Chris Rock to do that bit he does? You know the one.

Or "I play my hardest in the playoffs!"
