A lot of people have been saying "Ray hasnt been getting open looks" and things of that nature but from what I see is that he still does get the same open looks he just simply doesnt shoot. I dont know how many times ive seen Ray come off a screen open, Rondo will swing the ball and Ray will pumpfake and step in for a midrange J or Pumpfake step in and pass it back out.

The struggles have to be mentally, is he not trying to hurt his career best %??? Kidding, but I dont know why he is not SHOOTING.

Watch carefully; he's not getting open. Every time he comes curling off a screen nowadays his defender is glued to his side. Baby must lead the league in missed screens. Hopefully a week of practice before the playoffs can help. The screening has just been downright awful lately.

I think the screeners are getting too much blame for this.  The key to a good screen is really the guy coming off it.  Ray just has not had the spring in his step, and the acceleration that he normally has, which has hurt him coming off these screens.

I do worry that it's in his head more than anything.  I think it started with a few games where Ray was getting his looks.  Maybe there were poor screens set for him, maybe Rondo simply wasn't looking his way.

After those few games Ray took it upon himself to find some open looks.  Naturally this messes up the balance of our offense but more importantly it threw Ray completely out of rhythm.  He is now in the process of finding that rhythm again with both the big men setting screens and with Rondo.

His legs are simply fading on him like they do every season.  Wayyyy too many minutes this year.

Ray's struggles are one thing that I certainly blame Doc for

I tend to agree with the this for the most part.  Ray has been hesitant to shoot for some reason.  He has such a quick release he has never needed much space to get his shot off in the past, but for some reason he just isn't pulling the trigger quick enough in the last few months.  It's almost like he's over thinking it instead of just instictively shooting when he has the chance.

Exactly. There could be other factors (such as bad screens lately), but even the fittest of players has his limits.

Doc puts way too much faith in his players to regulate their own playing time. Ray has always prided him on his conditioning; but pride and old age don't mix well. Sometimes someone has to step in and tell you that you are not able to do the things that you have always seen yourself as being able to do.

Agree with the opinions posted, Ray has to be tired, that would be normal for a guy his age who has played as many minutes as him this season. Hopefully he can pull it together for the real season.

Didn't Ray get hit on the head a couple times?

I think that's the reason.

The lack of acceleration is generally a fatigue factor.  The player is generally the last to know.

I think the long season and a lot of minutes has worn Ray down. Even as fit as he is,the season is a grind. He played a bunch of minutes and didn't have an effective, consistent backup this year(Hence the big clip of minutes). Ray's not a spring chicken anymore. Hopefully the days off and some practice time will help everyone refocus.
