I hate saying "if" but if Shaq can give us the minutes we need against Miami, Chicago, and LA I think we will be fine.

Great article! Thanks for pointing it out. My fear is that we may never get Shaq back. Anyone notice where Chicago is on that list? NOWHERE!

If you don't think Shaq is not going to play, then you are crazy. He wants that fifth cookie, and he wants to do it at Bean's expense.

yes he wants it REAL BAD I know, and i'm sure he will try to get on the court but he can't do anything about his age.  I don't see him playing much at all, if he gives even 90% he will re-injure himself, if he give under 75% he will hurt the team more than help it.  tough situation.

Shaq definitely makes us a better team, if he's healthy.  Let's hope that he is, because we need him.

Yeah, good article, backed up by some imptressive stats.  I think they are just being extra cautious with Shaq and he'll contribute a lot in the playoffs.

Notice how the LAL best lineup without Kobe is still pretty good.  Spurs also have two lineups in the list.

Nice article,

Did anyone else notice that the Celtics defense has been more efficient in the minutes Krstic has played with the big four than when Perk was on the floor with that group?

I know the sample sizes are too small for it to be hard science, but still, that's a pretty interesting statistic.

I've felt this for a while.  It's the offense that has suffered without Shaq.  He really just made it easier for everyone else when he was out there.
DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

I try to keep in my mind that Shaq would be completely happy retiring after this postseason with a fulfilling career.  If that is true there would be absolutely nothing that could keep him off the court in the playoffs.

I'm sure he would have no problem putting his body in danger of a career ending or even life-altering injury if it means finishing with as many rings as Kobe.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

I agree, but Shaq is signed for two years.  Still, I expect him to so whatever is physically possible.
