We now have the same record as LA at 55-24. They own the tiebreaker.

The final 3 games of the season will determine who gets HCA in the finals.

BOS@MIA | LALvOKC
BOS@WAS | LALvSAS
BOSvNYK | LAL@SAC

We need to best them by one game in the home stretch to lock up HCA advantage. I figure we need to win out and hopefully LA will drop one to OKC or San Antonio or both!

ARGH I'd like to be optimistic, but why do I have this horrible feeling that the Celtics are going to drop a game or two in this last stretch.

I hope I'm wrong and they just bulldoze everyone, we'll see.
Celtics' turn on switch for the playoffs: the last bastion of hope for battered Celtic fans.

That's just a feeling... In reality, the Celtics are going to win the remaining games...

I certainly hope so. The key right now is to build some sort of momentum, especially since LA is free-falling.

I think you'd call it coasting rather than free-falling. Much like what our boys are doing.

LA looked similar to us against Portland like we did to Chicago outworked all around.

It'll be tough to win all these remaining games given we barely put away a depleted Wizard team toward the end. Also you know Miami and NYK are going to be ready to play given we spank them the last meetings. If we don't come out prepared and can't believe I need to say w/ some
toughness well end up 1-3 and the third seed.

Celtics will probably beat Miami and lose to Washington on the end of the back to back.

Uncertain what will happen against NY.  Depends on whether that's our upcoming playoff matchup or not.

LA might drop a game against OKC or SA, but they'll surely win 2/3.  Celtics will have to win all of their remaining games to finish with a better record.  I'm skeptical.

The ironical part is, we could let them win to avoid them. Check this thread: Link.

Even if they lose all their remaining games they remain, still, the favorites in the West. Even if San Antonio and Dallas win the HCA they can beat their asses out in any given series. However, the Spurs might seem to give them a good fight and that holds true too to the OKC Thunder which I foresee as the darkhorse in that conference.

Of course, most of Celts fan would still wish for a better win-loss slate against them thinking that it will be our edge once we meet them again in the Finals.

For me, I am all-set for the playoffs - with HCA or no HCA. Our guys must not just give a big push for the playoffs but to bring their biggest push for their careers - particularly on the O'Neals, KG, Ray and PP. It is time to revisit their true identities and worth and play hard even on a single limb.

Frankly, I do not understand their recent losses. Like us, that is not their true worth. Having said that, they might be trying new sets of play.

I watched the game against GSW and I think Phil Jackson was experimenting with lineups and kept Kobe out for too long in the fourth quarter. They certainly didn't do their best to win.

I think the lakers & celtics are working on things and don't really care what their records are, they want guys healthy and rested

Yeah, but the game against Miami is directly related to who gets home court in the second round. It 'should' be like a playoff game. Add in that if the Lakers lose one (with a tough schedule), then Bos/Mia will secure home court - and, along with Perk, was a major factor [in people's opinion] in why we lost the championship last year.
