What's new?

Those who like this trade will still defend it...no matter what. A week or two ago, we had posts reminding us to wait and judge the team based on our performance against CHI and MIA. Well, CHI outplayed us...so now we are asked to wait until the playoffs begin...not much is going to change. Chemistry and cohesiveness of this team is gone...shipped to OKC.

Perkins was not an all star or the second coming of Bill Russell but he was a important member of this team. Hustle, chemistry, cohesion, the rapport players share in the locker room...those things will never show up on any stat sheet...but they are critical to a team's success. We had a wonderful training camp in 2007 where the team came together and bonded...if chemistry is overrated, why did the team shell out all that money to spend time in Rome?

I've watched Roy make sensible, reasonable posts on this topic a few times..only to be scoffed at, called a "hater" etc...and I expect the same kind or response to this post as well. I sincerely hope that people like me who are not enamoured by Danny's "high way robbery" act are proven wrong come playoffs...but it's not looking good for us. Not one bit.

Here's a slice of cake, and here's a fork so you can eat it, too.

Those who don't like the trade aren't changing their minds, either.  I dislike your tone. You seem to be implying that those who agree with you and Roy Hobbs are simply being reasonable and those who disagree are ignorant boobs.

A bad loss to the Bulls stings a little, but it does not definitively prove your Guru's argument.

Good day, Sir.

Thanks for the slice of cake, Celtics18. Want to have a bite?

So, Roy is my guru because I share his views on the trade? Does that mean you have many gurus? Afterall, only a handful of people on this board don't like the trade...the rest seem convinced that Danny pulled off a miracle. Funny how I didn't have a guru last year when I too was beating the 'we'll be fine' drum.

Sorry you don't like my "tone". Do you also judge other people's tone when they share your views but disagree with others?

For the record, I don't think anybody on this board is an "ignorant boob".

Celtics18 - Please, Man...this trade will certainly have two opposing sides, but BFM was just stating his position on it.

No need for the tone, my friend. We can assume that both Roy and BFM as well as others on here are firmly against the trade, but we can all be cordial about it. :)

Thanks for the friendly advice, GreenFaith.  Possibly, my tone was too strong.

Sigh.  Even if many fans on this blog don't believe in the psychological edge Perk gave us, a lot of players and teams apparently do.  Rose is just echoing what we've already heard from the Lakers and from other teams.

Perk's presence was a lot more than just what showed up in the box score.

Absolutely. Off the court chemistry completely comes into play. Trust is a big factor and this team was one of the closet they come. These were the big bad Celtics... Lately, they have just been the over the hill Celtics without the same swagger and Badittude that they had for the past 3 or 4 years.

Let's all simmer down a bit, please.  I know there are strong opinions on all sides, but we're all fans here and there's no need for bickering.

Those three will never get along.

You know what's always bugged me is does paper really beat rock?  So what if it can envelop it, what is it going to choke the rock to death or something?  Not realistic.

Yeah - the Big Bad Celtics that got a bunch of techs...Perk was almost leading the league with that, and it almost got him suspended last playoffs, right?

He has in fact toned it down in OKC, I think.

Actually he's already tied for the OKC team lead in technicals, with 5 in just his short stint there.

lol...thanks Fafnir.

Kendrick Perkins has been writing a bunch of checks here lately...his comments about Gasol and Phil, etc.....I hope that Serge, KD, and Russell can cash those checks in for Perk.

He has a lot to prove down there in OKC, and last time I checked Bynum was playing REALLY well......and even outplayed him in Boston this year.

Cash those checks, Perk.

A tightened rotation with Shaq and the Celtics will smash the Bulls in the playoffs if they even make it passed the Magic, just wait. Doc's rotation last night was waving the white flag at the 1st seed from the very start. The Celtics wanted to show NOTHING in terms of game plan.

And really? This Perk stuff after every loss? This is simply out of hand.

I know what Perk meant to the team. I wont even get in to that...what is done is done.  Bottom line is he is gone and we cant get him back.

Now all the teams think Perk was the "magic bullet" and edge the Celtics had.

Perception is not always reality...but other teams think that without Perk we are soft and old.

When the playoffs start...lets prove them wrong.!
