The worst part about these threads is how transparent some people's agendas are. Really? So we are losing this game this way because of Jeff Green?

And it would be incredibly helpful if all those spreading rumors about how Green is unhappy, wanting out, etc etc at least present a source.

I get the impression before long the source for this will be people's vague memories of hearing it from each other.

Crappy game, no other way to put it.  Bulls were more up for the game than we were, and Rose played exceptionally well even for him.  But we played very poorly and were still in it til the 4th, when we collapsed.  They were the better team tonight, and they deserved to win.

I'm looking forward to seeing this team in the playoffs, if they get past Orlando.  Should be a battle.

I'm not at all looking forward to facing Chicago. Not after what I just saw. I don't believe the Celtics "didn't show up" tonight. I actually think it's worse--they showed up, but just weren't as good as the Bulls. I don't think I've felt that way all this season.

What's weird about the Perkins trade isn't that they miss the player himself (although Ray definitely misses his screens), but they miss the confidence/belief they had as a 5 man unit. I really believe that. Going through all these tough times while trying to teach new guys that just aren't up to snuff...I think it saps the team's confidence, where instead of knowing they're the best team on the court, those guys are constantly thinking "we aren't as good anymore". Even if it isn't true, it's in their heads just like it's in ours.

It isn't in my head - I worry about the team's cohesiveness and their health, but not their talent level.  Can't speak for theirs, though.

Anyway, I like to watch tough competitive basketball and Chicago will bring it if we play them.  We'll beat them if we deserve to, and if we can't get it done, so be it.

Plus unlike Miami and LA I don't really have anything against them as a franchise.  So a loss wouldn't sting quite as badly.  But ultimately I just think it'll be an awesome series.

You people are ridiculous. If you're all so confident, then put money on the bull.

This Perk chemistry thing is really absurd. HE MISSED 99% of our season.

The Bulls wanted this one more.

It sucks and a I'm as p---ed as the rest of you.

Wait until we have the Diesel back and JO playing more minutes.

I swear, as fans of the greatest franchise in sports, you all act like a bunch of people who never watched this team before.

Its sickening. Btw LA lost 3 in a row, do they suck too?

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU

People call Pierce a punk?  Rondo is a diva?  Green is trash?  Doc sucks?  I understand being ticked off, but you guys give new meaning to fair-weather.  What have you done for me lately, right?  These same people will be running around with a bullhorn screaming about how great the Celtics are when they go on another magical run.

Instead of calling these players divas and punks and trash, maybe look in the mirror.  You all should be wearing diapers and sucking a pacifier.  Sickening.

have you watched this team the last month and a half? they play has been bad. all of them.

Chicago is hungrier and better than we are right now.

However, that's right now.  There's still a long way to go to the ECF, and hopefully we can right the ship.
They're going to have to right it in a hurry because as constituted I don't think they can get out of the 2nd round.

I say that because none of the newcomers seems capable of coming up big in a playoff game.  All evidence presented points to them going the other way and being total non-factors.

Our bench played fairly well, it was our starters who did not show up.

Not gonna win many games like that, let alone big games against big opponents.

LOL LOL it is so comical, i swear. All this doom and gloom
You know the reason why they are angry? For bragging rights, to tell non-Celtic fans how good their team is playing

Lakers and Heat all had their bad stretches, but they are still the favorites to win. But somehow with the Celtics its no hope for them smh..

  • It's not hard to work hard.
PS Chicago getting Thibs is a bigger offseason score than Miami getting LeBron.  Jeezus that Bulls defense was physical, active, quick. Just killed us.

I don't think it's an "agenda" necessarily.  People are frustrated.  Thus, pointed statements made about Green, Rondo, Ray, Pierce, etc.  A lot of folks are looking for an explanation for this poor play, and there are a lot of possible targets right now.

When Green is singled out as the main reason we lost this game and that we won't win a championship, how is that not an agenda?

Rondo, BBD and Pierce were all MIA tonight, and yet people here single Green out as the reason we lost? As the reason we will never win? All while spreading unsubstantiated rumors about his personality?

I am sorry, but no neutral person who saw this game would pin the blame on Green.

Eh...  The team struggled when Green was in the game, and he contributed a whopping two rebounds and zero assists (again).  He's not the #1 reason we lost, but he also didn't do a lot to contribute to the victory.

Like I said, I'm seeing Ray, Rondo, and Pierce getting criticism here, too.  BBD, too.  It's just how these things work; frustrating games = frustrated posters.

Here's an article on Jeff Green wanting out of Boston.

http://blog.newsok.com/berrytramel/2011/03/02/thunder-does-jeff-green-regret-not-signing/

Essentially, he was in the same spot as Perk, played chicken with his contract extension and got burnt.

Really makes the trade look stupid if both players wanted to stay where they were in the first place.

that article is NOT about Green wanting out of Boston.  it's speculation from an OKC fan about the fact that Green might regret not signing an extension with OKC.

Im sure this will be repeatedly skipped over.

Um, this has absolutely nothing about Jeff Green's actual feelings; it's some blogger "just asking questions" and giving "advice" to him to fill some column inches.

The article is not about Green wanting out of boston. That article is about the columnist saying that Green looked lost and wondering if he wanted out of boston.

In fairness, that article is short on facts, and heavy on speculation.

Yeah, he gets COTY.  Hands down.  Deserves it more than Rose deserves MVP.

Its simply food for thought.

But I forgot that its impossible that Jeff Green doesn't want to be a Celtic. He has to love going from being a starter to coming off the bench. I get it. How dare I think anything otherwise. His spectacular play and him playing his heart out every time he's on the floor should tell me all I need to know.
