It is literally a one man show out there for the Bulls. If Rondo would just learn to stay in front of Rose we would be up in this game.

Unfortunately, as the D. Rose adidas commercials say,  "you can't teach fast"  :-\

As soon as I saw the way Rondo missed his 1st shot, his confidence was shattered. Rose is making Rondo look like a fool.

rondo...zero points. SMH

That point guard comparison looked painful but...Rose is their go to scorer. Rondo's not ours. But still Rondo NEEDS to find his way to the basket...but then again he might be scared of getting fouled because he cant shoot FT's...SMH.

Thing is, we can win this game. A few more made baskets and they need to cool off a little. Rose can go berzerk but if we slow down others we can maybe pull out a win. We're only down 5..

The good thing for us, is that Rondo isn't to the Celtics what Rose is to the Bulls. With Delonte West in, we can still run the offense. The Bulls NEED Rose to BE the offense. If anything happens to Rose, the Bulls are doomed.

True.
If this was soccer, I'd put a target on Rose knee to foul him out of the game!!  ;D
The Celtic in me.

Yeah, and on that last play of the Bulls, I just watched the interior defense of the C's, and guess what, it's not even there! The paint was completely open and Rose just had to blow by Rondo (which, as we see, isn't all that difficult) to get an open layup.

I thought you were going to add:
.. whereas if the Cs had Perk, there's no way that Rose would be able to drive into the lane and make a layup!
;)

  • Another undersized Celtic...
very disappointing first half in such a big game....4 or 5th game in a row where the opposing PG has been able to get to the rim at will. that is a major issue that is not being fixed
Very disappointing? I'm not sure why. We're down by 5, but we won the 2nd quarter, are only behind on the boards by 2, and would actually have a lead if we hadn't blown 5 or 6 lay ups. And we haven't even heard much from Pierce or Ray yet. I'm not that worried yet.

we need him to at least try to go to the basket and score. he isn't even trying to score in the lane.

If we can win this game, I'll be even more confident for the playoffs, as it'll show that our team still has enough to beat them even when Rose goes off.

Honestly who doesn't Rose get to the rim on?

will bynum, holiday all got to the rim for big games. rose is going wherever he wants

Jrue Holiday didn't do anything after his 11 point first quarter...

  • Rondo = Good
Rondo is such a great defender.  He really shuts down opposing point guards.  ::)

He has problems with point guards who are just as fast or faster than him.

Unfortunately there are more and more point guards in this league who fit that description.  We're entering the age of the fast, athletic point guard.  At some point practically every team is going to have a point guard who is as fast or faster than Rondo.

Westbrook, Rose, Paul, Brooks, Lowry, Conley, Holliday, Evans, Ellis, Wall, Jennings, Beaubois, Collison . . .
Never forget the Champs of '08, or the gutsy warriors of '10.

Agreed. I do think he's scared though.

i am a bit concerned about the second chance points the bulls are getting
