It is literally a one man show out there for the Bulls. If Rondo would just learn to stay in front of Rose we would be up in this game.
If we didn't miss our shots from point blank range we'd also be up in this game. I wouldn't put all this on Rondo.

Tonight Rondo is gonna have nightmares about Rose doing whatever he wants..

But I don't know how, we're still in the game.

He should be thinking about this at half time.

The good thing for us, is that Rondo isn't to the Celtics what Rose is to the Bulls. With Delonte West in, we can still run the offense. The Bulls NEED Rose to BE the offense. If anything happens to Rose, the Bulls are doomed.

If it was that easy, Rose wouldn't be the MVP this season...

  • Rondo = Good
Rondo is such a great defender.  He really shuts down opposing point guards.  ::)

Yeah, and on that last play of the Bulls, I just watched the interior defense of the C's, and guess what, it's not even there! The paint was completely open and Rose just had to blow by Rondo (which, as we see, isn't all that difficult) to get an open layup.

Rose: superior offense
Rondo: superior defense

so far, offense is winning. and it seems like even when Rose gets a miss, it always results in an offensive rebound. goes to show, DRIVING WORKS!

I beg to differ. If Rondo would stay in front of him he would be getting inside for layups as often as he has

Boston improved its play in the second quarter, but they're still missing too many good opportunities. By my count, they missed four layups/bunnies in the first half -- that's 8 points, which would put them in the lead by 3 instead of being down 5 at the half. Also, it seems like every missed opportunity is followed by a Chicago make, producing a swing of at least 4 points. This is crippling. In the first quarter, Pierce missed a bunny, and that was followed by a Bogans 3-pointer -- 5-point swing. Near the end of the first half, with Boston down only 3, JO misses a layup, then Brewer has a follow-up dunk -- 4-point swing, with Boston suddenly down 5 when they should've been down only 1. That stuff's gotta stop.

And I can understand Rose hurting them, but they can't allow Bogans 3s and Brewer follow dunks. Also, Boston needs to attack more, in the post and with penetration -- get some fouls on key Bulls players, get more trips to the line.

very disappointing first half in such a big game....4 or 5th game in a row where the opposing PG has been able to get to the rim at will. that is a major issue that is not being fixed
Honestly who doesn't Rose get to the rim on?

will bynum, holiday all got to the rim for big games. rose is going wherever he wants

The plays where we miss LAYUPS to cut it to 1 or 2 just kill the whole game for us IMO. I can't stand this!

He has problems with point guards who are just as fast or faster than him.

Is there a sign in the lane saying open for business? No one stopping rose. I am thrilled to only be down 5
No none has stopped Rose this season--that's why he's pretty much walking away with the MVP.

Don't you remember? We're the Celtics, our defense is supposed to keep him from doing that. But obviously this doesn't work so far.

way too many missed 3s too

That's sometimes just the way it is.  Pierce is 0-3 on what I thought were three reasonable attempts.  Hit one of those, then it's a two point game.

Delonte West has three turnovers, for half of the team's total for the half.  (Yet he has the best raw +/- number for the game.)
