I think the reason Davis hits the floor so much is because he's standing with both feet below his shoulders.  I'm sure he'd stand up much better if he could lean back on one leg, but that would look like a block to refs.

Being a guy who is 6'4, 300 lbs that has played sports my entire life..you hit the floor when you want to. It is a wholly conscious decision, because its a lotta meat, going a long way down. Remaining standing is much easier than falling.

While the notion that his center of gravity (his chest) moving beyond his feet makes him fall, I'm sure that's true, but if he wanted to remain standing, he would, even if he took the hit in the chest with his feet under him.

What cop out are you talkin about? I just said, big dudes don't go down just because they run into them, and I know that, because I'm a big dude. Glad you got a laugh out of it.

Fisher and Ginobili top my list by a country mile.  They disgust me.

Any floppers list without Glen Davis on it isn't a list at all.

I think the reason Davis hits the floor so much is because he's standing with both feet below his shoulders.  I'm sure he'd stand up much better if he could lean back on one leg, but that would look like a block to refs.

Are you kidding?  If Earl Boykins makes contact with Davis he'll flop exactly the same way he would if Dwight Howard did.

It's disgraceful that (A)The game is being made a mockery of with floppers like Davis and the players on the list...And (B)That the league and the officials are implicit in calling this flopping garbage as anything other than a technical foul.

Los Nash should get an honorary vote for that ridiculous professional wrestling flail and flop that cost Phoenix the series against the Spurs

Yes, but at least when Boykins hits him he doesn't incur a concussion.

True.  And it doesn't matter if the guy is 150lbs or 350lbs.  Big Baby will step outside that circle and take the contact.

..........and flop exactly the same way whether there's any contact or not.

Nothing praiseworthy about flopping whether a Celtic does it or Fisher and CO do it.

Baby draws a charge the way he was taught.  That is praiseworthy to me.  Fundamentally perfect.  The man can't elevate and block shots.  This is how he protects the rim.  Would you prefer him to stand and watch guys take layups?  He does what his body allows him to do and he is highly skilled at it.

Yeah I don't think flopping is a net negative by any means. Some guys (Manu, Fisher) will drive you nuts with flopping while there are others (Pierce, Durant, Kobe) that will drive you nuts with flailing (as others have said..offensive flopping basically). Until they start polygraphing players after whistles, I don't see why one (flopping) should be demonized and the other (flailing) should be rewards, especially with the way refs call touch fouls on prominent players. Can't even breathe on a guy anymore, cuz between the Jordan rules and screaming and flailing, I wouldn't be surprised if gingivitis merited a flagrant 2.

I don't understand why people would make Pierce to be a flopper, or Davis for that matter.

Davis, although he falls, he actually takes the hit. These major floppers who make the list often don't even get touched.

I want more context on this one, they seem to be making fun of someone.

Easy answer.  They're Celtics.  So that they make a mockery of the game is perfectly OK.  However, when Fisher or Ginobili do exactly the same thing...That's very bad.

Highly skilled at flopping.  What a virtuous skill.  I would rather he stand his ground with his arms straight up.  When they don't call the offensive foul Davis is completely out of position to rebound.

No polygraph needed to see the obvious.  Just call technicals like Stern threatened to do last season.
