What current player most resembles Danny Ainge?

In terms of skill set, I see him closest to probably Jameer Nelson.  Maybe Jason Terry, or a younger Mike Bibby.

Really interesting question ... I'd have to say the first players that come to mind are Manu Ginobili or Tony Parker. Haven't given it a lot of thought, but they jumped to mind ... I'll process it some more, but this kind of question requires an impulsive answer, IMHO.

Considering style of play and skill sets, of the two, I lean more toward Manu. Also, Danny had that same fire, and liked his share of sneaky "cheap shots" when he could get away with them ... and much like Manu, Danny never committed a foul, lol.

the kicker with danny was how amazing of an athlete he was, he came into the nba without the great jumper, that was lots of work (or the range I should say)

tenacious defender, guy to definately get under your skin one way or the other, great athlete, nice outside jumper/good range
ginobilli has a lot of the same characteristics except how great an athlete ainge was.....

If I had to make a comparison I would say Delonte kind of reminds me of Ainge I guess.  Poised, tough, physical, great outside shooter, not really a traditional point guard assist wise.  I dunno, they've got some similar qualities.

I was going to say Delonte.  Delonte is faster/quicker (at least seems to be), but Ainge was a heck of an athlete and was tenatious and high energy like Delonte.  On the downside Ainge also had a little bad Tony Allen in him.  He was impulsive at times on the court.

I see the Delonte comparison, but Danny was a signficantly better shooter and scorer, and he was much less injury prone.
