No lie.  The Lakers look nasty.  I still think that getting through the West will be no cakewalk for them.  I can see the Spurs or the Thunder taking them out.  Not so much faith in Dallas, but I also see that Denver team as a dark horse out West.

This should be an exciting playoffs.

I know it is only the regular season, but the Lakers by far are playing the best basketball in the league. Their front court is totally dominating anyone they play. Hopefully they lose something in the playoffs. Bynum is playing the best basketball of his career.

They might even look better than Cleveland and Orlando did late last year.

Yeah, although the difference is, LA doesn't have the gaping holes on paper that those teams had.  On Paper, LA is as complete a team as there is (along with Boston)...and right now, they are playing like it.

Does it help they've played mainly at home and against weaker teams?

This isn't football guys... The hottest team isn't necessarily going to be the most successful team in the NBA Playoffs. They'll fizzle.. for one, they have Artest contributing, and we all know how long that lasts. They just need an injury, they are LONG over due.

Plus their bench sucks. Barnes can't keep his cool, and Blake gets pushed around. ;)

Yeah....Lakers look dominant...just like CLE looked dominant prior to meeting Boston in the playoffs last year.

ORL had some folks in fear, too...until they too - met Boston in the playoffs last year.

And when we met LA last year? Bynum played almost every game, Gasol did too...but it took LA seven games to beat Boston with KG being hurt and hobbled, Paul being banged up, Ron Ron's cheap shot on Ray's leg, etc...

LA "Looks" good, yep.

Come on, we're all homers for our teams...But "Cleveland?" You're comparing a team that's never won anything to a team that has already won two championships in a row.

Yes, it was a good win...But that's it. Worth the same as any other win, and not even the playoffs.

Um...well, that CLE team I'm speaking about took LA out back to the shed in 09-10 - both games.

They were truly dominant, too - if I remember correctly, they ran away with the best record last year, too - and then they met Boston. KG and Rondo were key to that series last year, and I think those two will be key this year in a potential matchup in June with LA - especially a healthy KG vs Gasol.

This is where I was going with my comparison of CLE(Last year's playoffs and regular season) to LA....two dominant "Looking" teams...at the time.

Look - I respect what your squad is done this year and even right now, but I'm not about to concede the title to you all until Boston has the final word.

No matter how many Kobe highlights I must suffer through, or Ron Ron kissing his arms, etc......the games must be played...and as long as Boston is healthy I absolutely LOVE our opportunity.

Banner 18 beckons, and for it come at the expense of the Los Angeles Lakers will make this even sweeter.

On the second night of a back to back, the lakers have come back from 17 down to tie the awful jazz. The only team playing close to their level right now is Chicago.

Yeah.  3 peat?

Bleh. Stuff like this makes me wonder why I bothered watching the NBA this season when I should have very well known it'd be the Lakers 3-peating or the Heat winning their first.

that's right, the team with the most talent up and down, the team who can dominate the boards and score best in a half court offense while also defending well - that's the team who wins in the playoffs.

guess who that team is?

hint: they wear purple and gold.

They have a HORRIBLE bench. And you can't win a championship without a great bench. That is so underrated, as it make the starters have to play more minutes then they would like to. So their not the best team up and down

Andy Bernard doesnt lose constests. He wins them, or he quits them because they're unfair.

They are coasting like they did before the all-star break. I'm all for it though. HCA in the Finals would be nice.  ;D

Haha...I bet Phil isn't loving this right now...I can imagine his lockerroom rant:

"Guys....you picked a fine time to decide to coast....you know, the playoffs start in a few days....." ;D
