I'm concerned about Troy Murphy's work ethic and attitude. When he returned from injury with the Nets, Avery Johnson said he felt that Troy wasn't in great game shape. Instead of accepting that and working to get into condition, Murphy pouted and publicly called out his coach. In the meantime, he lost any court time he was going to get to the young stud, Derrick Favors, and the coach's dream, Kris Humphries.
Since becoming a Celtic, he hasn't looked in particular good shape or very engaged, either.
Having said all that, if he comes back from that ankle sprain soon, he should get a real opportunity to turn things around as a Celtic. My expectations are real low right now, so it wouldn't take more than a solid 15 minutes a night where he grabs some defensive rebounds and rotates defensively to start to win me over. Hitting some long range shots would be a bonus.
