I've been debating this for some time and would love some feedback from CelticsBlog.

Let me explain the poll briefly. Is it harder to watch a loss against:

1. A top notch team (Lakers, Bulls, SA, Heat) where its a hard fought battle but at the end of the game we were just not the better team and you may question some plays, calls, heart. Ex. Loss to Lakers at home this year, ORL Christmas day, losing to Dallas twice this year, sweep by Hawks last year.

2. Losing to sub .500 teams, some of whom are just laughable. Yet the losses here include last year at home to the Nets, 2nd game this year to the King-less Cav's, losing to TOR and WAS at the buzzer.

3. Self explanatory

Their are some factors that affect this poll such as injuries and schedule but at the end of the game when the Celts lose, which one really feels worse? Blowing a home game against our biggest rival or embarrassing ourselves to a Detroit, WAS, TOR?

This is not about this season or any in particular, just overall how you feel about a Celtic's loss.
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

I think it comes down to regret or pain, and which one is more palatable to you.

In life, when you have a great opportunity and squander it by not seizing the moment and in effect turning your back on a gift (when you lose to the Nets, Pacers, Cats, etc and have a good chance to retain HCA), the regret that comes from that far surpasses the pain of losing to a rival who is at least close to your competitive level and talents.

So, if we are talking regular season losses against the have-nots compared to regular season losses to worthy competitors, the regret from blowing the golden opportunity against the have nots sucks way worse than the pain from losing to a worthy rival.

I'll watch any game that they play hard and loose
I cannot stand when the team goes through the motions against any opponent

or if rick pitino is coach i find those games nearly impossible to watch

Ya drinking a little during/after definitely helps now that I think of it. As soon as game 7 ended, I got up, smoked a cigarette and immediately began consuming jd until the pain faded  ;D

To the second quote, us skinny people can afford to eat plenty and drink. How much longer can I stand being called a holocaust victim? Not much longer

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
The "All Losses" option seems a like a little bit of a cop-out. I know it stinks losing to a crappy team, but we all know we can and should beat them, so other than dropping a little bit in the standings, it really doesn't matter that much. Losing to a very good team seems most disappointing because we tried our hardest and still couldn't win. There really aren't any excuses except that we aren't good enough.
