I think also why the team won't go far:
They're just mediocre. They have been playing above their heads the entire season

Huh?

A mediocre team that has managed to play above their heads the entire season??? I guess we need to say the same thing about SA too.

NOH was a mediocre team that played above their head to begin the season.

To be honest, Rose is the only player on that team that can consistently create a shot. Everyone else is a product of Thibs system. That team would be easy to scout. And Boozer... well I never thought much of him lol

I think your definition of mediocre is very different from the one found in dictionary.

Hahaha TP
What I meant was that besides Rose, they have no other star player. It's Rose or bust. The other players are just a product of whatever Rose does on the floor. He generates like 1/4 of the entire Bulls offense. That's mediocre to me

I have been thinking the same thing!!

Also something that would be a detriment is his coaching style. It is his lack of offensive creativity. He is too much of a "system" coach and doesn't play to to his player's strengths. He under utilizes Loul Deng, and just makes him a pick and pop guy. He doesn't maximize the player's individual talents.

His offense is too simplistic, with Rose bringing the ball of the court and playing 1 on 5. It is too predictable and it would be so easy for an opposing team to scout and stop them

And you're so right about the "out of gas" thing. Its tiring them out. They won't have any energy for the playoffs. I've been thinking this for a while. Glad you wrote about it

While Thibodeau was busy not being creative and Boozer was making you "never [think] much of him lol," the Bulls jumped from 28th in offensive efficiency in 2009-10 to 12th this year.

It would be interesting to see how they fare if Rose goes down...He has only missed one game this season.

I reckon they'd have some serious problems.

Counterpoint:  the '08 Celtics played hard for pretty much all 82 games, and were much older than the Bulls.  They held up just fine.

Well, they went all out for about 72 games.  They rested the regulars a lot over the last handful of games I believe.

What was so impressive though was that they continued winning while resting the starters, mainly because of the winning culture that the entire team had bought into.

It will be interesting to see if Thibodeau does something similar, and rests some of the starters over the next couple of weeks.

As good as the bulls are, i'm not convinced that this is how good they really are. Teams like NOH, Dallas, and even Clev have had incredible regular season records where they overachieve but have done poorly in the playoffs. Bulls still have to prove to me how good they are. Young teams don't win championships.

This is a decent point.

When's the last time a team composed primarily of players who have never won a playoff series gone on to win the championship?  On that team, the only main guy who has won a playoff series is Carlos Boozer.  He's been as far as the conference finals, if I'm not mistaken?  I don't think he's enough of an experience factor.

All teams struggle at points in the season and some teams get really hot at times. Remember when the Heat won 21 of 22 and looked unstoppable? They lose 5 straight, get written off, then get on another hot streak and are suddenly favorites again? The Bulls are good, but they're not as good as we're seeing now.

In the playoffs, teams are gonna lock down on Rose, and I have a feeling Boozer's gonna get injured.. I don't know if Thibs can do the necessary adjustments in a 7-game series.. They'll survive the first round but will get exposed and be booted out in the second.. It would be nice to meet Thibs in the ECF, but for me, this just ain't gonna be their year.. Beware the MVP curse, Derrick!  ;D
