My biggest fear for this season:


The O'Neals do not return to prove whether or not this was a good trade. 


I know I want to be proven wrong.  I hope to be proven wrong.

I just think there's a gross overreaction to the C's performance as of late, and I hate to see things around here be so negative. Whether it be reasonable concerns like yours Roy, or the unreasonable ones that need not to be named.

Danny made a move to improve this team's chances at winning the title this year and I have faith that he made the right move.

On several occasions its been pointed out that the Lakers are the best team in the league until proven elsewise, why aren't the Celtics the best team in the East then?

That's a lot of homerism and blind optimism talk, but I'll believe the Celtics organization about the O'Neals health until proven elsewise.

In your mind, perhaps.  But lets not assume everyone sees it that way.  Since I personally think they need at least 1 Oneal even with Perkins, I do not think it would be that cut and dry, and there would still be a discussion, depending on many more factors.

That's what's particularly scary to me.  Danny admitted in today's paper that the team has "no idea" when Shaq will be on the court.  He put the most recent time table at 1-2 weeks, but he may as well have said "Your guess is as good as mine".

Usually we hear "If the playoffs started today, he'd be playing" or something like that.  Today, we basically got a giant "I don't know".  Couple that with his statement in the Jackie article (which I'm probably reading too much into) that he "thinks" the O'Neals will be back, and I'm worried.

I think it makes it a bad trade. 


But I want to see the chance of Ainge being right so he could be right and the Celtics win the title.

I have been staunchly pro-trade all along but this statement is correct in my opinion.  I feel we got more talent back then we sent out (even before the draft pick is figured in) but a GM should be figuring in health risks.

As each day goes by, I find it harder to be optimistic about SO/JO.  It would be nice to see some good play out of JO tonight.  All it took from Josh Beckett was 5 good innings last night and I feel exponentially better about the Sox.  Now let's see if JO can do that for me and the Celtics.

Reading the article Doc says, "its getting close to bleeding into the playoffs". Which is to say there isn't much time left. He also says he'd take either of them back at this point, but he wants them both.
