Who are your favorite players who might and will enter the 2011 draft and why?

Aside from the obvious ones like the Morris twins, Williams from Arizona, and Irving from Duke. Give me your take on previous unknowns or less rated players.

Personally, I like Jaime Skeen of VCU. I admit I have only seen him play once, against Kansas in the NCAA tourney. But, he impressed me. His scoring percentage that game was quite low, but he held up against a more vaunted Kansas front court players.

Jordan Hamilton from Texas, he is a great scorer and versitile. Also, Texas is defensive-mided so he might be a nice pick up. Also, I love Brandon Knightout of Kentucky. He is extremely fast and has a solid 3 pointer (38% i think). He is 6'4" so he could probably run either guard positions.

I also like Jordan Hamilton....good size, defense, shot...not a star type but active....

Chris Singleton.  I like his tough look and rep for defense.

Marshon Brooks from Providence. He can score with the best of them and he length allows him to be a good defender. He played in the toughest conference in the nation and although people knock him for playing selfishly and being a chucker, the fact was his team was young and not that talented.

If Rick Jackson can develop a right hand (big if) he's got the size and athleticism to be a solid bench big.

My Favorite sleeper thus later:

Bojan Bogdanovic - EU player with a lot of upside, only 20 yrs old

Justin Harper - kind of a none sleeper but I like his game. Polished inside player with decent mid range jumper.

Jeremy Tyler - athletic big man with loads of potential (the only problem I see for him w/Celtics is lack of playing time. Doc does not play raw type players.)

and last but not least Frank Hassell - nice inside game (great rebounder)dominated Malcom Thomas in the PIT champship game. Great sleeper for the 2nd rd

Andrew Goudelock from CoC...just reminds me of one of those tweener PG/SG that can fill it up off someones bench.  I see him having a career similar to what George Hill is having.

Only way it happens is if the C's totally tank next year and get a top 5 pick in the 2012 draft.

Actually, it could also happen if Austin's draft stock really drops a lot while he's at Duke and he stays for an extra year or two and the Celtics pick him up with a pick between 5 and 15 in the '13 or '14 draft (or maybe the '12 draft if he declares anyway).

I've mentioned Brooks in a few other threads.  I think he's a potential replacement for Ray down the line.  He's got the size, speed and shot to be a pretty good SG for the C's.  There's a decent shot he'll be available in the 1st round for the C's.  

In the second round, Delroy James from URI (staying local again) might be worth a look.  Size, speed, shot to play SF.  Heard he did very well in Portsmouth try outs.  I don't think any draft board (well maybe one) has him being picked so he may be around for that 2nd round pick.  

I think the C's really need a big man but I don't think there'll be anything but projects left by the time they pick.  The odds Danny gets another Semih in the second round (although Danny has done fantastic in the second round) isn't likely.

Having Brooks and James off the bench for the next couple of years would go a long way to shoring up the bench play in the post-big 3 era.

I'm really a fan of Matthew Bryan-Amaning from Washington. He has great height and athletic measurables for an NBA power forward and played great at the Portsmouth invitational. I think he would a great 2nd round pick if he's available.

Biyombo won't play in the NBA, if he's smart enough, until he has some skills, so I want Nikola Mirotic with the first round pick. They are not getting an NBA-Ready player anyway, and I don't think many teams are willing to invest a first round pick into a player who's been extended for two more years by Real Madrid. It could be a great idea because he's been chosen Euroleague's rising star -  link

Unfortunately, he'll be playing in the Euroleague's F4 with Real Madrid, and he's clutch, so a lot of teams will look at him. Still, if he's available, they'd better select him. He's a 6'10" PF who can put the ball on the floor, has huge fundamentals and killer instinct.

Then, I'd like the Celts to buy an early 2nd rounder to select Keith Benson, he could be our next year's young big man. Jamie Skeen is an interesting player also, but lacks a bit of size.

I also like Kyle Singler, and his draft stock is falling a lot, so he might be another option in the 30s.

With the 2nd round pick, I don't know, maybe go the Semih route, draft an international player with upside to recall him in a couple of seasons.

Dirk van Boxtel. He's not aligned with any teams at all right now, and works a full time gig at Trixan, where he is a UI designer. He's playing for the International Blazers right now in a Saturday morning competition, but like I said, no contracts or anything.

The guy has hardly any lift, has an okay-ish shot and shoots nearly as well from the charity stripe as Rajon does. He's also almost as good a passer as Dwight Howard, and has Shaq's ball-handling skills. With those kinds of all-star level skills, he has GOT to be considered.

Oh, I forgot to mention: intangibles.
