JO wont change much.

As long as the team is in a coast mode and refuses to give effort, we are going to lose all of our games.

Celtics arent good enough to coast AND win.

They dont have a LeBron that can coast and still score 30.

They have old guys and a weak point guard who is the last option and cant carry teams to wins.

As long as they refuse to try, we will lose every game. Simple.

At this point I'm convinced the "Megatron" screenname is a joke perpetrated by one of the moderators (the way Nick Agneta once had an alter ego).

“I’m ready to go,” O’Neal said before last night’s game. “It’s been about a year, since I left Miami, that I haven’t had any limitations. It hasn’t been this year, for sure. I can’t wait to get back in the mix. If we had a practice (Sunday), I would have tried to go (last night). Now I have to get up to speed with the new plays and the new guys. The speed of the game is what I’m worried about, but my body I’m not worried about.”

Rivers isn’t worried, either, though the coach is skeptical about O’Neal’s ability to play in an NBA game after only one practice.

“I think Jermaine has his own personal time clock,” Rivers said. “We’ll see. I haven’t seen him yet. We’ll practice, he’ll be on the floor, and we’ll get a good look at him. I doubt (O’Neal will play on Thursday night). That’s just so quick. We get back and have one more practice, and just being around the team with the little walkthroughs will help him. The only way I see something happening is if we have another injury. But I doubt I would do it.”
Sorry but JO is not walking through that door for now at least  ::)

Who is jermaine o neal?

Don't be silly, you know who Jermaine O'Neal is, he's been in the league forever.

What he has to do with the Celtics, though, I have no idea ;)

Lol it has to be. I've heard this clown say that Perk is Boston's 'star' and that he was our best player...I can always look to this guy's posts for a good laugh. Cracks me up

I think the Cs have been pretty good with the range they've given about when JO would be back.  Its the target dates with Shaq that keep getting moved back.
Celtics fan for life.

If the mods made two sock puppet accounts called "Negatron" and "Optimist Prime" and had them fight every game thread, I would probably just start sending Jeff checks*

*ok probably still not.

  • Thank you Eddie!
I never thought this team would be to the point where we're digging out Jermaine O'Neal's corpse and hoping his skeleton can actually give 15 minutes a game.  I guess it's better than dragging Sheed out of retirement at this point...

The less Krsitc plays the better.

Hopefully with JO and Shaqs lack of mobility they will camp out in or near the paint more and be able to protect the rim.

Im getting tired of seeing Krstic at the top of the key while his man glides in for uncontested easy dunks.

if JO can give us 10-15 mpg of good defensive and rebounding, he will be a huge addition. the real question is how pain-free is he? sounds like he's had no flare ups while going hard for a few weeks. he can get his stamina back between now and the end of the 1st round (again, its not like he's going to play 30+ mpg). if he can play like he did last year pre-injury with miami, that might help fix a lot of our troubles.

According to A. Sherrod Blakely, JO looks ready to play tomorrow:

Quote
Unless he has an unexpected setback in the next 24 hours, look for JO to play tomorrow vs Spurs
.

Edit: And Von Wafer did a full practice, too.

this is good news, I think JO can definitely help the celtics on the defensive end. especially since he knows the system.

im looking forward to seeing the celts with Shaq/JO back at the C position
