Look obviously there is damage done by the trade, but think about it

If Ainge hadn't done the trade we would have had : Robinson, Daniels, Erden, Harangody as our bench (3/4 of those guys are injured currently)

With the exception of Daniels, who unfortunately had a season ending injury, none of those guys would have been playoff reliable even on their best days.

I highly doubt the Big 3 went from all-stars to nobodies in a month's time.

The same thing happened last year, and yes that's no guarantee, but it's something that has happened before and history tends to repeat itself.

Look I'm extremely pessimistic about what's going on now as well, chemistry looks dead, but:

CELTICS ARE NOT DONE UNTIL THEY ARE ELIMINATED FROM THE PLAYOFFS. Period.

If you're a real Celtics fan you will support them until they either raise Banner 18 this season or watch them lose in the playoffs because that's what real fans do.

The Celtics are a great franchise, and the last thing I want to see is the Celtics fanbase being a bunch of fair weather fans like the Miami Heat or Lakers, have some Celtics pride.

/end rant

Great post - TP

I still believe they'll pull out of this...thing..whatever it is. Rhondo has started improving, but is still not right. The big 3 are up and down. Possibly it's these back to backs and lack of sleep. I know that Wed. night they likely had little if any sleep before the game.

The Celtics are still very much Championship contenders and whether they actually win it or not, they are still our team and deserve our support throughout their struggles.

Indeed!

The Celtics will provide us with entertainment until they are eliminated from the playoffs in the 2nd round or maybe the Eastern Conference Finals, at which point we will have to watch the Bulls or the Heat face the Lakers or, if God is gracious, maybe the Spurs, Thunder, or Mavs.

Why couldn't Danny have made another trade to get a small forward that did not disrupt the team the way he did? And, it is not just the trade. Basically, with the injuries to Shaq, JO and Delonte and the acquisition of Green and Krstic, Doc is trying to integrate 4 or 5 new guys into the rotation. Not going to happen.

Maybe Danny saw this coming?  Maybe he believed we weren't going to win it all this year with the team as currently constituted, and he wanted to at least set us up to have a chance to be decent in the future with some younger talent?

Thank YOU!!! I've seen so many ridiculous post ever since the trade and while I'm not happy about the way the team is playing right now a lot of these "fans" either need to support or keep it movin real rap

Well, maybe. I don't see Green has being much better than a third option on a team and I don't think they will even try to sign Krstic at the end of the year, so I don't see much of a talent gain there.

I don't see it, the C's were playing fine until then. He wanted another wing to keep Pierce and Ray fresh.

The problem is he traded away the C's best center in the process. Krstic was playing over his head and is now starting to even out. Add that in combination with the rest of the starters sleepwalking and here we are.

I hope Shaq is that adrenaline boost this team needs or else it will be a second round exit.

Ray Allen played 37 minutes on Wednesday and the starters practiced yesterday. His legs were tired, so his shot was off.

The moment Perk got that 2nd injury in Golden State, that was the disruption to the team.

Huge Celtics fan. It just their recent struggles have brought me to the website in a fruitless search for answers.
