Look the games that we have lost lately have hurt and yes we are out of the number one spot for the East (and are behind the Lakers for HCA). Yes, we just traded away our defensive anchor in Kendrick Perkins. However, lets remember something Danny Ainge is no idiot. Would he trade away Perkins not knowing that Shaq/JO are going to be healthy for the playoffs? I really really doubt that. Shaq/JO are going to come back, a little rusty at the end of the regular season but they're going to be healthy and more importantly they re going to be fresh. I'm less worried about homecourt, but the reality is this we are ONLY a game behind the Bulls. So calm DOWN!!!!!!

I think we all hope you're right!

I think both Shaq and JO will be back.  I worry about their rust and, at least with JO, about getting reintegrated into the system.  Hopefully their return snaps the team out of its late-season malaise.

Not sure if my memory serves me right but I recall JO needing a lot of games to play effectively after his first injury, but coming back strong really quickly (like 4 or 5 games, at the most) on his 2nd comeback. So hopefully he will be in the second mode when he comes back.

im actually more worried about shaq than JO.  I think JO will come back and be here throughout the playoffs.  Im worried about Shaq though.  I think he'll return, but for how long and in what capacity??  I was on board with the whole 'theyre just holding him out til the playoffs, it's not that serious' theory, but after reading that article where they said his achilles flared up again and they had to give him a cortisone shot and a walking boot, i'm beginning to doubt how much we'll see of shaq once he does return.

I know we will be fine in the long run if we get our centers back and get over this mental hurdle.

What I dont get is all this Derrick Rose MVP hype.

The MVP is clearly Kendrick Perkins. Without him the top team in the east cant win. Did any of us think his departure would impact the team like it has? Gotta have a case for MVP.

I have a similar concern, last year when he returned to the Cavs during the playoffs (or close enough to that time) he was returning from a thumb injury. I think that this time around nobody knows what to expect from him

It's stupid to guess on another man's health.  None of us know what's going to happen...but we ALL know that our playoff success is entirely dependent on their returns.  That's just scary.

No worries, in a week we'll have:

Shaq/JO
KG/Baby
Paul/Green
Ray/Wafer
Rondo/West

+Krstic and Pavlovic

Best roster we've had all year.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

Not what I meant.  I'm just saying you don't know anything about Shaq's injury.  I don't know anything about Shaq's injury.  Virtually none of us do

while it would be much harder to win without them to me its incredulous to think they would have NO chance in the playoffs... and the chances are at the very least we will have one of them... we are goin to win the championship based on our four all stars...

and right now it looks like we will be the 2 seed.. if we do get the 2 seed to me the first series where shaq becomes vital to the success not before then... we dont need shaq to beat the sixers/knicks and the heat... we can beat those teams without shaq.. the bulls would be tougher but i believe baby could matchup the bulls playing the majority of the minutes...

Zero case for MVP.  Did the Celtics play markedly improve when Kendrick Perkins returned from injury mid-way through this season?  By your logic, I could make an equally good case that Gody should be the MVP.

I think he was sarcastic. Perkins is Optimus Prime as far as Megatron is concerned. ;)
