Rondo's decision making is spectacular compared to BBD's.
Those two plays were hero ball at its worst. I guess in some ways it's a good thing that Rondo was willing to be aggressive there, but that was a horrible decision. The ball should have been in Paul's hands.
True, but it was Rondo that PUT it in BBD's hands. Ray was open.
When Rondo at 12 shots and BBD at 11 are your leading shooters you deserve to lose. We have gone away from the big 3 and now are paying for it.
Well, when Pierce is being covered by Sam Young, and Shane Battier, Ray is being covered by Tony Allen, and OJ Mayo, and KG is busy in a wrestling match with Zach Randolph (might not be the best overall defender, but the refs were swallowing their whistles on the fighting in the post, which killed KG's ability to get open down there) or Gasol, then you are going to be stuck with those guys getting a lot of shots.
Yeah, the C's did not execute well down the stretch, and that play did not work out, but it is really hard to score down the stretch in the NBA anyways, and particularly on a last second 3. We have been spoiled a bit with this team, but plays like that happen all the time at the ends of games, and it just comes with the territory.
I just think we really missed the Oneals more than ever before in that game (it was the first time everyone played hard, and they still lost because of lack of interior toughness), and Memphis stepped up big time, and outphysicaled the C's in a game where the refs were not going to blow the whistle.
