The last 3 years, Rondos Rebounding has gotten worse. His free throw shooting (which almost can't get any worse), hasn't improved. His mpg has gone up by 4, and with it has come an increase of 4 assists/game.

Is that your assessment of Rondo's game compared to 3 years ago? Wow. Just Wow.

Rose is on another page entirely in the PG book, and he's clearly the best in the league in every phase.

Other than things like passing, defending, rebounding and running an offense I'd agree with you.

They said the same thing about Chris Paul a couple years ago.  Lets see some sustained greatness before we do too many of these proclamations.
CP3's season in 2007-2008 was much better than Rose's this year. He really should have won the MVP, Kobe got his as a career achievement.

Ohh myy Godd, I was saying the same thing. Chris Paul is head over heels better than Rose. Chris Paul so good that year it was scary. One of the best point guard performances (regular season and playoffs) that I ever seen. Kobe got that award as a  career achievement award for a just a reasonable year for him
Paul's best season was 08-09 and I don't think it is that close really.  I mean he was better in virtually every metric (he had fewer APG, but actually had a better AST%).
Yeah but his team won 7 less games, so I think that 07-08 is the best comparison to Rose's year.

Especially since 56 si rigth around where I'd expect the Bulls to settle for wins. (between 56-58)
I'm sure the 7 less wins had nothing to do with chandler missing half the season, Peja missing a quarter of the season, etc.

Paul was better in 08-09.

Having a better or worse assist ration does not indicate whether he is a better or worse passer...it only indicated how often his possessions end in a credited assist, as opposed to scoring or turning the ball over. A guy can score, still get 8 or 9 assists, and have 2 turnovers a game, and still have a middling assist ratio.

Turnover ratio to me is a more valuable statistic.
I understand the metric, but the reality is, Chris Paul scored 1.7 more points a game on the exact same FGA in 08-09.  He grabbed 1.5 more boards a game.  His assists went down slightly (chandler and peja missing a ton of time contributed to that greatly) and he turned the ball over a bit more, but his overall increased scoring efficiency, total points, and total boards, more then makes up for the slight up tick in turnovers.  Chris Paul was a better player in 08-09 then he was in 07-08 and I don't think it is close.

I think Derrick Rose has a chance to be great; however, obviously Legler's jumping the gun on this.  The guy hasn't even won a playoff series yet.
