I'm a Cs fan since the Cowens era, and I joined CelticsBlog just so I could post this: Donny Marshall is horrible.  He has to go.  How can we make this happen?  There must be some old Celtic who'd be better than Marshall.  Donny is the master of the obvious; I never learn ANYTHING about the Cs or about the game when I watch him.  And when he veers into opinion, he's almost invariably making a poor case.  He's a chump.  I can barely watch road games when Tommy stays home (even though Tommy has his flaws, he at least explains the little things).  Please make Donny stop...

Couldn't agree with you more. Nothing worse than tuning into a game and Marshall is in Tommy's place.

he is annoying and i dont care for him.  he doesn't bother much when he is in the studio bc i usually use that time to get some food, go to the bathroom, or other things...and not watch much of the studio stuff.  i dont like it when he calls games when tommy is out bc i actually have to listen to him >:(

That would depend on your opinion of Bill Walton, both are painful in different ways.

Bill Walton is a "volume talker" like Antoine was a "volume shooter", but at least Walton says interesting (and outrageous, and dumb, and crazy) things.  Donny provides the sort of super-obvious insight my wife could provide (and he's way less good-looking).

My wife doesn't comment a lot when she half-watches the games, but her "that big white guy never rebounds" comment when Krstic was playing was pretty much spot on.

It seems they've backed off a little bit on the Donny replacing Tommy notion...can't we all rejoice in that at least?

Nothing worse than tuning into a game and Marshall is in Tommy's place.

Apparently you have never heard a game called by Tanguay and likely also forget "Coach" Willie Maye.

It's apparently "bad memory day" with posts about Willie Maye and Mikki Moore today, with an "Antoine shooting threes" reference thrown in in another thread.

Thanks for the TP!

Maybe we can convince CSNNE to get Donnie Wahlberg full-time; he was at least as insightful as Donny M.

Anyone else remember the Cooz doing in-game teasers for the sitcom "Moisha" on WB38 in the 90s?  Always slayed me hearing TH and Cooz talk up Moisha as if they'd actually seen it.

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
Hearing him try to explain what guys like Rondo, Pierce, Ray, or KG can do to play better is so stupid to me. On their worst nights those guys are probably better than a prime Donny on his best. And it doesn't help that he has absolutely no tie to the Celtics. urgh... let me stop before i really get going, but yes Marshall must go.
