Because if he doesn't, Delonte will start to eat into his minutes. I am already on record supporting the idea that Delonte should close games for us. And I believe that still may happen. But Delonte obviously provides a spark for this team. And if rondo doesnt want his minutes to be reduced, he needs to step up.

That's why Delonte will be so crucial for us in a June matchup with LA.

The O'Neals and Krstic/Murph > LA's bigs.

But West is so crucial.

Rondo will start playing better - I believe that.

But DWest gives us another dimension...a spark.

I'm sure Rondo would love to have his minutes cut. The guy has been playing 35-40 minutes a game all season.

I don't see why we have to pit Delonte and Rondo against each other...they both provide a lot for this team, and will continue to do so in the future.

I was wondering how many minutes Rondo was playing, that has to be a huge part of why he's in a slump. Lately, the guy just looks gassed. I don't doubt for one second that he'll get over it, but I think people expect far too much from him.

Rondo is an outstanding ball player, but no one can be playing full speed all the time.

He's gotta be injured...must be. The man is only 24, 25?

At that age he should safely be able to go for 35-40 a night, right?

If he is gassed then I dunno what to tell the Cheats little 3 when the playoffs start, what do they play... 40-45? I think RR is in rest mode. He will ramp it up when the playoffs start!

I find the too many minutes theory bogus to be honest.

There are plenty of other players who average more minutes but also have to do WAY more for their team, like carry them every night.

Look at Rose, hes averaging more minutes but also has to carry the team every single night.

Rondo sets up our offense, but thats where his role stops, he isnt a closer, finisher or a main offensive option.

I miss when this team would run on opponents. Now, I hate watching this half court game that won't do much vs better teams, but makes heroes out of Baby even though David West's 32 was mostly his assignment. All for a 4 point win? Hey a win is a win. Rondo wants to run fastbreaks and sometimes runs it alone because guys aren't running with him. That's dumb coaching to not have personnel on the floor to run with him. So far Krstic and Rondo aren't working, even after a rebound Krstic is turning it over on outlet pass.

Well, I don't know....he was all of what you just stated that he is isn't in that CHI series in 08-09, and even last yr's playoffs, vs CLE and ORL....man played so well he earned himself a spot on that Sports Illustrated cover in May 2010, I think.

The Rondo we are accustomed to seeing will be back - and when he is the NBA will serve notice once again.

Man is not through, not by a long shot.

+ 1...he just needs a break before we head into the playoffs...give him 3-4 games off.

I think Rondo played pretty well tonight.  Unfortunately, Pierce played absolutely terribly (as did Ray in the first half), and the movement off the ball was just terrible in general.

I know West had a really strong game, but Rondo was not the problem tonight.

I have to keep reminding myself that not too many people are compared to Larry.

Well, Rondo was in this video:

We haven't seen this Rondo in a few weeks, but he will be back.

He played 28 tonight...and in my opinion Delonte could have easily got another 5 of those minutes.

I would have left West is the rest of the game.  Rhondo needs to ride the bench and get his act together.
